₹100 Crore Series B Funding Boosts Immuneel Therapeutics’ CAR-T Therapy Expansion

Just months after launching India’s first approved CAR-T therapy, Immuneel Therapeutics has made a sensational move in the biotech industry. With the ₹100 crore funding, they are all set to fuel their next phase of growth. This investment will help the company expand its manufacturing, advance its pipeline, and accelerate its international expansion.

This Bengaluru-based cell and gene therapy company has closed its Series B funding round with new investors. The list of investors includes Singularity AMC, Rainmatter by Zerodha, and several other high-net-worth investors.

While the current investors, such as Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, Eight Roads Ventures, and F-Prime Capital, continued their support.

After successfully launching India’s first approved CAR-T therapy Qartemi, Immuneel Therapeutics is now stepping into its next phase oF growth with this fresh funding. The company has already laid out a plan for how to utilize this funding. They will be mainly increasing their GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) manufacturing capacity. With this, they will be able to boost their next-generation cell and gene therapy programs closer to clinical milestones. This will also strengthen the company’s presence in international markets across the Asia Pacific and West Asia.

Founded with the support of Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, Immuneel is building cell and gene therapies in India for patients in India and around the world. Alongside the commercial efforts, the company is building a pipeline that will support in-house scientific expertise, GMP-grade manufacturing capabilities, and global co-development partnerships.

Not only advancements, the findings also highlight the growing interest of the investors in advanced therapies. This is because CAR-T therapy has emerged as one of the most promising approaches for treating certain cancers.

While the technology has delivered encouraging results globally, access remains limited in many regions because of high costs and manufacturing challenges.

Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw said the company was founded on the belief that advanced cell therapies should not be limited to a small group of patients or a handful of countries. She said the new funding will strengthen Immuneel’s efforts to build a globally competitive CAR-T platform in India by combining deep scientific expertise, scalable manufacturing, and improved affordability.

Amit Mookim, Chief Executive Officer of Immuneel Therapeutics, said the commercialization of Qartemi has already demonstrated that world-class CAR-T outcomes can be delivered at a fraction of the costs typically seen in Western markets. According to him, the Series B funding will help accelerate the company’s international expansion plans and support the development of its next-generation pipeline.

Mr. Mookim said that they are not just building a company. They are building a new global standard of care from India.

Among the new investors, Rainmatter sees the company as part of a broader wave of healthcare innovation. Nithin Kamath, Founder and CEO of Zerodha and Rainmatter, said advances in biotechnology are changing what is possible in healthcare. He added that Immuneel’s work in cell and gene therapies, including CAR-T therapy, has the potential to improve patient outcomes while making advanced treatments more accessible.

The latest Biotech Funding round gives Immuneel Therapeutics additional resources to scale its operations at a time when demand for advanced cancer therapies is growing worldwide. With fresh capital, a commercial product already in the market, and plans to expand beyond India, the company is positioning itself for a larger role in the global cell and gene therapy landscape.
