Role Overview
The Junior Research Fellow (JRF) will contribute to a research project focused on understanding the genetic and genomic mechanisms underlying bacterial inhibition of pathogenic fungi. The role offers hands-on experience in microbiology, molecular biology, and bioinformatics, while working in a collaborative research environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in rearing, maintaining, and co-culturing fungi and bacteria
- Conduct experiments related to microbial interactions
- Perform transcriptomic and genomic data analysis
- Maintain accurate records for research, audits, and publications
- Support laboratory operations including procurement and maintenance of reagents, supplies, and biological materials
- Collaborate with research team members to achieve project objectives
Eligibility Criteria
Essential Qualifications
- Master’s degree in any branch of Biology from a recognized university or equivalent
- 1–2 years of experience in Research & Development in academic, industrial, or scientific institutions
- Qualification in a national-level examination such as NET, GATE, DBT-JRF, or equivalent
Desirable Skills
- Experience in isolating and handling macrofungi
- Knowledge of transcriptomics and genomics
- Proficiency in advanced molecular biology techniques
- Experience in handling live microbes
- Strong bioinformatics skills, particularly in high-throughput data analysis
Compensation
Emoluments will be provided as per ANRF norms and project sanction
