Job Description
The International Potato Center (CIP) seeks to recruit two (2) dynamic Molecular Biologist consultants for the West Bengal Project: ‘Developing local Seed Potato Production System in West Bengal’.
Position Details for Molecular Biologist at CIP
- Locations: Kolkata (1) and Mohit Nagar (1), West Bengal
- Consultancy Fee: INR 40,000 – 45,000 per month
- Reporting to: Principal Scientist
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnostics of potato seed and soil-borne diseases
- Develop and implement plant diagnostic or prevention programs
- Provide integrated approaches to monitoring and managing crop pests/disease
- Prepare inventory list and procurement reagents
- Provide safety recommendations on pesticide handling
Requirements for Molecular Biologist at CIP
Selection Criteria:
- MSc in Plant Pathology (PhD preferred but not required)
- 3-5 years of experience in molecular laboratory work
- Project coordination and stakeholder engagement experience
- Ability to work collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams
- Willingness to work in rural, resource-limited areas
