Overview

Location: Gummidipoondi

Position Objective: Executing the quality plan by testing raw materials, finished products, and packing materials to ensure the supply of quality products to Kemin’s internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

• Collection of samples from raw materials (RM), finished products (FP), and packing materials (PM) for analysis.
• Analyze all the raw materials, finished products, and packing material as per SOPs & provide feedback on deviations, if any, to the concerned functions like manufacturing, purchase, etc., for corrective actions.
• Ensure the quality control compliance of ISO 9001-2008, FAMI-QS, and HACCP requirements in and around the manufacturing facility by regular interaction with all stakeholders.
• Carry out troubleshooting of analysis and analytical instruments.
• Maintain accuracy and consistency in analysis.
• Support validation activities in terms of performance qualification of the process and laboratory equipment.
• Involve in method development activities in consultation with R&D and in updating the quality manual.
• Ensure all the requirements as per ISO 9001-2008, FAMI-QS, and HACCP elements and implement the updated requirements in quality control to improve & sustain the systems.
• Perform risk assessment within the function and ensure the mitigation plans are in place.
• Ensure raw materials vendors are approved and identify the risk involved in the product.
• Perform in-process monitoring and identify potential risks involved in the process as well as the product.
• Perform analysis of new vendor samples and participate in the raw material risk assessment process.
• Ensure functional KPI-related records are followed on a daily basis.
• Ensure water quality monitoring schedules are performed periodically.
• Maintain lab equipment in operational condition and calibrated as per schedule.
• Carry out any other Quality Control-related activities as directed by the supervisor.

Qualifications

• Master of Science in Chemistry/Biochemistry/Microbiology with a minimum of 0 – 2 years of relevant experience
  (or)
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry/Biochemistry/Microbiology with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
