Title: Seed Health Analyst

Education: M.Sc. Pathology/M.Sc. Microbiology/Msc. Agri Biotechnology or equivalent degree with experience in Seed Health Testing and allied subjects

Job Purpose: The Seed Health Analyst is responsible for conducting seed health testing, managing the lab workflow, maintaining plant pathogen cultures, diagnosing diseases in plant samples, and ensuring the overall smooth operation of the Seed Health lab.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct seed health testing of all received samples as per SOPs
- Manage daily workflow of the Seed Health lab
- Ensure that samples are processed and reported in a timely manner
- Allocate manpower to meet workflow requirements
- Ensure proper record keeping and document control
- Isolation, purification, and maintenance of plant pathogen cultures
- Prepare growth media, buffers, and stock solutions for the microbial cultures
- Disease diagnosis of external plant samples
- Maintenance, breakdown, and calibration of all lab equipment
- Provide lab, greenhouse, and field support.
- Follow all the safety and regulatory compliances designed by Seed Health Manager
- Inventory management of materials and chemical products
- Participate in monthly safety training and meetings
- Help in OPEX and CAPEX management and cost saving
- Responsible for taking proactive approaches for continuous improvement in seed health testing.
- Responsible for following all Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)
- Candidate must have knowledge about NABL (ISO/IEC 17025) and process.
- Actively work to implement all NABL processes in Lab and allotted areas
- Other job and duties as and when required
Skills Required:
- Skills required: ELISA, Bioassay, Dilution Plating, DNA and RNA isolation, Molecular diagnosis of plant pathogens, primer designing, PCR, Real Time PCR, etc.
- Candidate should have good hands on basic microbiological/pathological techniques
- Good English communication skills both written & verbal.
- Candidate must be good in MS-Office, data analysis and report preparation
- Attributes required: Team player, proactive, learning attitude, flexible, good communicator, creative, adaptable, etc.
