Project Name & Funding Authority:

Genomics-driven Dissection of Susceptibility and Drug Resistance to Pulmonary Tuberculosis, with a Geographical Focus on NER, Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India.

Selected applicants will be appointed up to 24-09-2023.

The age limit is a maximum of 30 years from the date of the interview.

Project description:

It has been proved that genetic factors determine the susceptibility to various infectious diseases and their clinical courses upon infection. The proposed project aims to understand mechanisms of tuberculosis susceptibility and drug resistance emergence in the northeast region of India using multipronged approach. Research focus will include study of host genomics and functional genomics as well as critical assessment of clinical parameters.

Name of the Post: JRF

Consolidated and fixed monthly emolument – Rs 32,500/-

Essential Qualifications – M.Sc. in Life Sciences or similar discipline with NET (LS) of CSIR-UGC, DBT (B), or ICMR

Desirable Qualifications – Research experience in Genomics/Human Genetics.

Nature of Duty – Collection of bio-specimens, Design and conduct of molecular genetics experiments, Data analysis, functional assay.

Post II

Name of the Post: Laboratory Assistant

Consolidated and fixed monthly emolument – Rs 17,000/-

Essential Qualifications – MSc in life science or a similar Discipline

Desirable Qualifications – Research experience in Genomics/Human Genetics

Nature of Duty – Collection of bio-specimens, Design and conduct of molecular genetics experiments, Data analysis, functional assay

How to Apply

A walk-in interview is being organized to meet the objectives of the project.

  • The date of the walk-in interview is 19th June 2023 starting from 11:00 AM.
  • No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.

The following documents are required at the time of the interview:

  1. Curriculum Vitae along with reprints of publications, if any
  2. One Passport- size coloured Photograph
  3. Original along with one set of Self-Attested Copies of Certificates of Educational Qualifications
  4. Original along with Self-Attested Copies of Experience Certificates
  5. Original and Self-Attested Copies of Govt. issued Photo ID proof.
  6. Original and Self-Attested Copies of the proof of the selection through any national level exam (in case of JRF Only).

Applicants are requested to report at NIBMG at least half an hour before starting the Interview.

The decision of NIBMG in all matters relating to eligibility, acceptance or rejection of the application, mode of selection, and conduct of interviews will be final and binding on the candidates. In exceptionally meritorious cases, the eligibility requirements may be relaxed by the competent authority
