CSIR – Central Food Technological Research Institute, Mysuru, a constituent National Laboratory of Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), invites applications from eligible candidates for recruitment of 01 (One) position of SENIOR RESEARCH FELLOW tenable at the Department of Food Safety & Analytical Quality Control Laboratory, CSIR-CFTRI, Mysuru, Karnataka

Applications of those candidates, which are already active in the above panels for Senior Research Fellow with the above eligibility requirements will be considered by default.

Applications received after the due date of 29-05-2023 will not be considered. The short-listed candidates will be informed about the date of the interview and the venue through e-mail.

CANVASSING IN ANY FORM AND / OR BRINGING IN ANY INFLUENCE, POLITICAL OR OTHERWISE WILL BE TREATED AS A DISQUALIFICATION FOR THE POST APPLIED FOR. INTERIM ENQUIRIES WILL NOT BE ATTENDED TO.

Terms & Conditions

  1. Candidates should not have exceeded 32 years of age as of 29-05-2023 i.e. the last date of receiving the applications.
  2. The engagement of the SENIOR RESEARCH FELLOW is exclusively for the above-mentioned research work.
  3. The engagement will be contractual and purely on a temporary basis for a period of 08 Months or a co-terminus with the project, whichever is earlier.
  4. The engagement under the externally funded project does not confer any right/claim whatsoever either explicitly or implicitly on the appointee for regular appointment in CSIR-CFTRI, against any post or otherwise under any legal conditions precedent.
  5. The performance of the Project Staff will be reviewed every six months. In case the performance is not satisfactory, the fellowship could be terminated with one month’s notice or one month’s stipend in lieu thereof.
  6. No TA/DA will be given to the candidates for attending the interview.
  7. If already the candidate is working in CSIR-CFTRI “No objection certificate” from the PI is mandatory at the time of the interview.

Essential Qualifications: M.Sc. / M.Tech Food Science & Technology (or equivalent), M.Sc. Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Agricultural Science with NET lectureship or GATE and Food Analyst qualified with 02 Years of research experience.

Job Requirements: To carry out food & food product composition analysis by chemical methods and analytical instruments

EmolumentsRs.35,000/- (Rupees Thirty Five Thousand only) consolidated per month .

    • Answer: During my M.Sc./M.Tech program, I conducted research in the field of Food Science & Technology. I designed and executed experiments, collected and analyzed samples, and used statistical methods to evaluate the impact of different processing parameters on nutrient retention and sensory attributes of the product.

    • Answer: Yes, I have obtained NET lectureship qualification. This qualification has helped me in pursuing research and academic opportunities. It has provided me with a strong foundation in my field of study and has opened doors for teaching positions and research fellowships. It also demonstrates my knowledge and competence in the subject matter, which is valuable when working on research projects.
  4. Can you discuss your experience in working with research projects funded by external agencies? How have you managed to meet project deliverables and timelines?
    • Answer: I have worked on research projects funded by external agencies in the past. These projects required adherence to strict timelines and deliverables. To meet project objectives, I followed a systematic approach by planning the tasks, coordinating with team members, and efficiently utilizing available resources. Regular monitoring of progress and adapting to any challenges or changes helped me ensure timely completion of project milestones.
  5. What are your strengths and skills that make you a suitable candidate for the Senior Research Fellow position? How do you envision contributing to the research work mentioned in the project?
    • Answer: One of my key strengths is my in-depth knowledge and expertise in the field of Food Science & Technology. I have a strong foundation in conducting analytical tests and interpreting results. I am also skilled in using various analytical instruments and techniques. With my research experience, I can contribute to the project by carrying out food and food product composition analysis accurately and efficiently. I am detail-oriented, possess good analytical skills, and have the ability to interpret complex data, which will be valuable in generating meaningful insights from the research work.
