  1. What inspired you to pursue a career in biotechnology, botany, horticulture, or agriculture? Answer: I have always been interested in biology and the way living organisms function. Biotechnology, botany, horticulture, and agriculture are fields that allow me to combine my passion for biology with my desire to make a difference in the world by contributing to the development of sustainable agricultural practices and the conservation of plant genetic resources.
  2. Can you describe your experience working in tissue culture or molecular works? Answer: During my master’s program, I had the opportunity to work in a tissue culture laboratory, where I was responsible for maintaining sterile conditions and preparing media for plant tissue culture. I also conducted experiments to study the effects of different growth regulators on plant growth and development. In addition, I have experience with molecular techniques such as PCR and gel electrophoresis, which I gained through coursework and independent research projects.
  3. How do you ensure accuracy and reproducibility in your work? Answer: I believe that attention to detail is essential for ensuring accuracy and reproducibility in scientific research. I always carefully plan and document my experiments, follow standard protocols, and perform multiple replicates to validate my results. I also regularly review and analyze my data to ensure that I have not overlooked any inconsistencies or errors.
  4. Can you explain the significance of the ICAR-NRCB SERV technology for rapid multiplication of selected EAHB varieties? Answer: The ICAR-NRCB SERV technology is a tissue culture-based method for rapid multiplication of banana plantlets. This technology has several advantages over traditional propagation methods, such as producing disease-free plantlets, allowing for year-round production, and reducing the time required for plantlet multiplication. This technology is especially important for the conservation and use of genetic resources of banana, which is an important crop with significant economic and nutritional value.
  5. How do you stay up-to-date with the latest developments in your field? Answer: I stay up-to-date with the latest developments in my field by reading scientific journals and attending conferences and seminars. I also network with colleagues and researchers in my field to exchange ideas and learn about new techniques and approaches. Finally, I am always seeking opportunities to learn and develop new skills, such as through online courses or workshops.
