WALK IN INTERVIEW

The Director, ICAR-National Institute of Veterinary Epidemiology & Disease Informatics, Ramagondanahalli, Yelahanka, Bengaluru proposed to fill up the following temporary positions (Twenty-seven positions) under the following projects detailed below on the basis of WALK IN INTERVIEW which will be held on 28.11.2022 for Sl. No 01 to 10 (Fifteen Positions) & 29.11.2022 for Sl. No 11 to 20 (Twelve Positions) (Please refer to advertisement) at 11.AM at ICAR-National Institute of Veterinary Epidemiology and Disease Informatics, Yelahanka, Bengaluru-560 064. All desirous and eligible candidates fulfilling all the requirements are invited to appear before the selection committee for personal interviews at ICAR-National Institute of Veterinary Epidemiology & Disease Informatics, Bengaluru on 28.11.2022 & 29.11.2022 at 11.00 AM.

Post I

Name of the Post – Research Associate

No. of Posts – Two Positions

Title of the project – “PPR-EP: Action Plan for surveillance and monitoring of PPR” (Sl No. 2-9)

Upper Age-limit – 40 years for men and 45 years for women as of the date of Advertisement.

Remuneration –

• Rs. 49,000/- per month + HRA (for master’s degree holders)
• Rs. 54,000/- per month + HRA (for Ph.D.)

Education Qualification required – PhD in a relevant subject (Biotechnology/ Microbiology/Biochemistry or its equivalent) OR Master’s degree in the relevant subject (Biotechnology/ Microbiology/Biochemistry or its equivalent) with 4/5 years of Bachelor’s degree having 1st division or 60% marks or equivalent overall grade point average, with at least three years of research experience as evidenced from Fellowship/ Associateship/ Training/ other engagements as circulated vide F. No. 2-9/2012-HRD dated 25.4.2014 and one research paper in Science Citation Index (SCI)/NAAS rated Journal as per OM SR/S9/Z-09/2018 of DST dated 30.01.2019.

Desirable Experience –

1. Laboratory experience in handling microbial cultures
2. Experience and knowledge in epidemiology, sero-monitoring, surveillance including molecular techniques PCR and serological techniques, etc., for the diagnosis of disease
3. Organizing training/meetings/workshops and conducting outreach programmes.
4. Proficiency in computer skills
5. Two years of experience in Data analysis
6. Experience in GIS mapping, preparation of the report, training manual, Hand Book/ Bulletins/ leaflets for information dissemination and awareness creation.

Post II

Name of the Post – Young Professional II & Junior Research Fellow (JRF)/Senior Research Fellow

No. of Posts – Three Positions

(* The tenure of Young Professional II will for a period of One year from the date of joining
which may be extendable for another year based on of the satisfactory performance)

Title of the project – “PPR-EP: Action Plan for surveillance and monitoring of PPR” (Sl No. 2-9)

Upper Age-limit –

• 21 to 45 years (for YP-II) with relaxation as per rules on the date of Advertisement
• Upper Age-limit – 35 years for men and 40 years for women as of the date of Advertisement.

Remuneration –

• Consolidated Rs. 35,000/- per month (for YP-II)
• Rs.31,000/- per month +24% HRA for two years and Rs.35,000/- per month +24% HRA for the third year (for SRF)

Young Professional II – Postgraduate in Science (Biotechnology/ Microbiology/ Biochemistry or its equivalent)

Junior Research Fellow (JRF)/Senior Research Fellow – Master’s degree in Veterinary Science/ Agricultural Science
OR
Postgraduate in Science (Biotechnology/ Microbiology/Biochemistry or its equivalent) With National Eligibility Tests- CSIR + UGC, NET, including NET lectureship and GATE or through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISC, IISER, etc and with 2 years of research experience for SRF

Desirable Experience –

1. Minimum one-year laboratory research experience
2. Hands-on experience in handling the transported samples, performing, standardizing, evaluating, and validating ELISA, and other serological techniques; PCR, cell culture, expression and purification of proteins; drafting the report and preparation of SOPs training manual/bulletins, etc.

Post III

Name of the Post – Programme Manager

No. of Posts – One Position

Title of the project – “PPR-EP: Action Plan for surveillance and monitoring of PPR” (Sl No. 2-9)

Upper Age-limit – 50 years as on the date of Advertisement.

Remuneration – Consolidated Rs.1,00,000/- per month

Education Qualification required – Ph.D. in relevant subject (Biotechnology/ Microbiology/Biochemistry or its equivalent) OR Master’s degree in the relevant subject (Biotechnology/ Microbiology/Biochemistry or its equivalent) with 4/5 years of Bachelor’s degree having 1st division or 60% marks or equivalent overall grade point average, with at least three years of research experience as evidenced from Fellowship/ Associateship/ Training/ other engagements as circulated vide F. 2. Conducting and coordinating training/meetings/workshops and outreach programmes and project-related communication.
3. Proficiency in computer skills and experience in disease outbreak investigation/Risk mapping (GIS mapping) preparation and analysis, including program management.
4. Experience in managing and handling projects individually.
5. Preparation of reports, training manuals, Hand Book/Bulletins/leaflets for information
   dissemination, awareness and IEC creation.

Post IV

Name of the Post – Young Professional-II /JRF/ SRF

Name of the Post – Project Associate-I

No. of Posts – One Position

Title of the project – DBT ADMaC project “Upgradation and Implementation of knowledge Based system (KBS) in NER India”

Upper Age-limit – Upto 35 Years

Remuneration –

1. Rs.31000+ HRA for two years and Rs.35000+HRA for the third year to Scholars who are selected through (a)National Eligibility TestsCSIR-UGC Net including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE or (b) A selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their agencies and Institutions.
2. Rs.25000+ HRA for others who do not fall under (i) above.

Education Qualification required – Master’s degree in Natural Science/ Bioinformatics/Computer Science or Computer application.

Desirable Experience – Experience in R or python programming and data analysis.

Title of the Project: Action plan for Surveillance and Monitoring of Classical swine fever during implementation of control programme (CSF-CP) under CADCP/NADCP/LH & DC in India. (Sl. No 16-18)

Post VI

Name of the Post – Young Professional- II

No. of Posts – Two Positions

(* The tenure of Young Professional-II will for a period of One year from the date of joining which may be extendable for another year based on of the satisfactory performance)

Upper Age-limit – is 21 to 45 years with relaxation as per the rules on the date of Advertisement

Remuneration – Consolidated Rs.35,000/- per month.

Education Qualification required –

• Post Graduates in Life Science or graduate degree holders in relevant Agricultural sciences/Engineering/Technology/Business Administration/ areas of Humanities according to the need.
• *Term “Agricultural science” includes all agriculture & allied sciences i.e., Crop science, Horticulture science, NRM disciplines, Animal Sciences, Veterinary sciences, Fisheries Sciences, Agricultural engineering, Agricultural extension, Agriculture education etc.

Desirable Experience – Knowledge of ELISA, preparation of lab for nucleic acid work and extraction of nucleic from biological samples, reverse transcription PCR, SDS PAGE, Western blotting, protein expression and purification.

Title of the Project: National Animal Disease Control Program (NADCP) : Brucellosis sero-monitoring. (Sl. No 19-20)

Post VI

Name of the Post – Junior Research Fellow

No. of Posts – One Position

Upper Age-limit – is 35 years for men and 40 years for women as of the date of the Advertisement.

Remuneration – Rs.31,000/- per month +24% HRA for two years and Rs.35,000/- per month +24% HRA for the third year.

Education Qualification required –

• Master’s degree in Veterinary Science with specialization in Veterinary Microbiology/ Pathology/Public health/Biochemistry/Preventive Veterinary Medicine
  OR
• Master’s degree in basic science with a specialization in statistics/Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/ Microbiology with NET/GATE qualification.

Desirable Experience – Experience in bulk production of monoclonal antibodies, serological tests routinely used for diagnosis of diseases especially brucellosis, different types ELISAs, maintenance and sub culturing of brucella, antigen extraction and purification, quality evaluation of antigen, computer and statistical analysis knowledge is essential with report writing skills.

Post VII

Name of the Post – Young Professional-II

No. of Posts – One Position

(* The tenure of Young Professional-II will for a period of One year from the date of joining which may be extendable for another year based on of the satisfactory performance)

Upper Age-limit – is 21 to 45 years with relaxation as per the rules on the date of Advertisement

Remuneration – Consolidated Rs.35,000/- per month.

Education Qualification required –

• Postgraduates in Biotechnology/Biochemistry/Microbiology/ bioinformatics
  OR
• Graduate degree holders in Agriculture Science/Technology (includes all Agriculture
  & allied sciences, Animal Science, Veterinary science)

Desirable Experience – Experience in serological tests routinely used for diseases especially brucellosis, ELISAs, antigen extraction, purification and quality evaluation for use in ELISA, computers and statistical/bioinformatics knowledge is essential.

Terms and conditions:

1. The above positions are purely on a temporary basis and co-terminus with the project except for Young Professional (I & II). There is no provision for re-employment after the termination of the project. The selected candidate can be discontinued owing to administrative reasons at any time by issuing a one-month notice. The selected candidate may also leave the assignment on their own, by giving one-month notice.
2. The above age limit is relaxable to SC/ST/OBC as per the Govt. of India Rules.
3. No TA, DA will be paid for attending the interview.
4. The applicants must bring their original documents along with a duly filled application form, one passport-size photograph and one set of photocopies of related documents at the time interview failing which he/she shall not be allowed to appear in the interview.
5. Canvassing in any form will lead to the cancellation of candidature.
