Central Silk Board (CSB), is a Statutory body established in 1948 by an Act of Parliament. It is working under the administrative control of the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India is engaged in undertaking, assisting and encouraging scientific, technological and economic research to improve levels of income in sericulture through the spread of scientific sericulture practices to see India emerge as the leader in theworld market for silk and advise the Central Government on development of silk industry.

CSB now invites online applications through CSB website https://csb.gov.in for recruitment to the posts of Scientist ‘B’ (Pre-Cocoon Sector in Central Silk Board, in Level-10 (7th CPC) of the Pay Matrix (Pay Scale: Rs 56, 100- 1,77,500) plus allowances as per Central Govt. Rules

QUALIFICATION:

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION: Master’s degree in Science or Master’s degree in Agricultural Sciences from a recognized University.

Applicants must fulfil the essential requirements of the post and other conditions stipulated in the advertisement. They are advised to satisfy themselves before applying that they possess at least the essential qualifications laid down for the post. No enquiry asking for advice as to eligibility will be entertained.

NOTE: The prescribed essential qualifications are the minimum and the mere possession of the same does not entitle candidates to be called for an Interview/Selection process.

AGE LIMIT:

The upper age limit is 35 years as of the closing date of receipt of online applications which is 17th November 2022.

SELECTION PROCESS:

Eligible candidates must have appeared for NTA ICAR (Ph.D.) JRF/SRF – 2022 for admission in Ph.D.

Candidates shall be shortlisted based on scores in NTA ICAR (PhD.) JRF/SRF – 2022 Examination (all parts), from among the candidates who apply against this advertisement of CSB. Please note that the ICAR score of another subject or ear or the score of another examination Will not be considered. All interested and eligible candidates who have appeared in NTA ICAR (Ph.D.) JRF/SRF – 2022 should log on to their website www.csb.gov.in (under the link: “JOB OPPORTUNITIES “) for applying. Only online modes of application will be accepted.

The cut-off marks for inviting applicants for the Interview/Selection Process will be decided by the Competent Authority.

PROJECTED VACANCIES:

Scientist- B (Pre-cocoon Sector)

Core Group – Crop Sciences-I

Subject/ Specialization – Genetics & Plant Breeding (2)

Core Group – Crop Sciences-II

Subject/ Specialization – Plant Pathology/ Entomology/ Sericulture (2, 3 and 9 respectively)

Core Group – Crop Sciences-III

Subject/ Specialization – Microbiology/ Plant Physiology (3 and 1 respectively)

HOW TO APPLY:

1. The candidates need to apply online mode only to CSB for the post of Scientist-B through the website www.csb.gov.in
2. Candidates should click on the “JOB OPPORTUNITIES” under CSB’s website www.csb.gov.in. They should keep ready their Information Bulletin for ICAR AICE-JRF/SRF(Ph.D) – 2022 Admit Card Registration/Roll Number before applying.
3. Last Date for Receipt of Online Application: 17th November 2022 No other mode of application shall be accepted.
4. Candidates belonging to the Unreserved/EWS/OBC/Ex-Serviceman category are required to pay a non-refundable Application fee of Rs. 1000/- (Rupees one thousand only). The SC / ST / PwBD and female candidates are exempted from payment of the registration fee. There is NO Exemption for payment of fees in any other category.
5. Procedure:
   a. Candidate would submit the data online.
   b. He/ she would be prompted to upload the photo and signature
   c. Once completed, he/she would be prompted to generate the challan.
   d. Payment is to be made at any office of India Post (Bharatiya Dak) , against the
   printed copy of the challan.
   e. Candidate would upload documents in support of their Age, Esesential Educational
   Qualifications, Score Card of NTA ICAR (Ph.D.) JRF/SRF – 2022 Examination and Caste
   Category (if applicable) and Experience (if applicable) [DoB proof, Qualification (only
   M.Sc Degree/Marks card). , Reservation (if any), Experience (if any) and ICAR – 2022
   Score Card)
   f. The payment details would be updated on the online portal.
   g. Candidates would be able to download the application only if the payment details are
   updated which normally happens on t+1 day.
   h. In case of exempted candidates, the print application would be enabled as soon as
   he/she completes step (a) and (b).
6. Documents to be uploaded: Candidate should Scan and Upload valid certificates to avoid
   rejection of his application Only PDF Files. The file should be less than 3MB in size. The following Documents should be uploaded in a single file and in the same order :
   a. Date of Birth Certificate (10th Certificate)
   b. Qualification (M.Sc. final year marksheet/Degree)
   c. ICAR 2022 Score Card(Downloaded from NTA website only)
   d. Reservation (EWS/OBC/SC/ST /PwBD/Ex-Serviceman)
   e. Experience certificate (in case of candidates looking for age relaxation, other than
   reservation, is mandatory)
7. Candidates shall read the instructions carefully and fill in the online application giving accurate information including INFORMATION BULLETIN FOR ICAR AICE-JRF/SRF(PH.D) – 2022 Admit Card/ Hall Ticket number and AICE-JRF/SRF(PH.D) 2022 Score Card payment details. After applying online, candidates are required to download the registration slip generated by the system with a unique registration number. A copy of the registration slip may be retained by the candidate for future reference. No document/slip is required to be sent to CSB by post or any other mode.
8. Fees once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances. Candidates are therefore requested to verify their eligibility before paying the Application fee.
9. Please ensure that the ICAR AICE-JRF/SRF(PH.D) – 2022 admit card number, which is mentioned on your ICAR AICE-JRF/SRF(PH.D) – 2022 admit card, is filled correct. The name should be entered as appearing in ICAR AICE-JRF/SRF(PH.D) – 2022 admit card/score card.

INFORMATION AND INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply.
2. All qualifications should be from Universities/Institutes recognized and approved by the Government.
3. 4. All Candidates, particularly those seeking age relaxation/concessions, should be fully aware of their responsibility for furnishing correct information and in case the information is incorrect/deficient in terms of the Rules/Government Orders their candidature shall be rendered invalid and no fees, if paid, shall be refunded.
5. In case it is detected at any stage of recruitment that a candidate does not fulfil the eligibility norms and / or that he / she has furnished any incorrect/false information or has suppressed any material fact(s), his/her candidature will stand automatically cancelled. If any of the above shortcoming(s) is / are detected even after the appointment his / her services are liable to be terminated without any notice.
6. Canvassing in any form shall disqualify the candidate.
7. Appointment of candidates is subject to his/her being declared medically fit, and also subject to service and conduct rules applicable to CSB. The decision of the CSB will be final and binding on candidates.

10. Candidates shall be required to give their consent for obtaining their individual personal data from the Information Bulletin for ICAR AICE-JRF/SRF(Ph.D) – 2022 by NTA for the purpose of this recruitment.
11. CSB reserves the right to change (cancel/ modify/add) any of the criteria, method of selection and allotment with or without assigning any reason in the public interest.
12. CSB shall not be responsible for any application made/ wrong information provided by an unauthorized person/institution. Candidates are advised not to share their application details with anyone.
13. The e-mail ID entered in the online application must remain valid for at least next one year. No change in the E-mail ID will be allowed, once entered. All future correspondence would be sent via Email only. CSB will not be responsible for bouncing back any email sent to the candidates.
14. CSB reserves the right to cancel /restrict/ enlarge/ modify/ alter the recruitment process, if the need so arises, without issuing any further notice or assigning any reason whatsoever.
15. The posting shall be at any of the Institutes/Offices/Stations of CSB All postings are transferable at the sole discretion of the management.
16. In case of any ambiguity/dispute arises on account of interpretation in versions other than English, the English version given on the website will prevail.
17. Any proceedings in respect of any matter of claim or dispute arising out of this advertisement and/or an application in response thereto can be instituted only in Bangalore and courts/tribunals/forums at Bangalore only shall have sole and exclusive jurisdiction to try any such cause/ dispute.
