Biological Sciences, UM-DAE Centre forExcellence in Basic Sciences
University of Mumbai-Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE CEBS) has been established on the Kalina campus of the University of Mumbai to impart high-quality education in the Basic Sciences after the 10+2 (or equivalent) level of schooling, in a vibrant academic ambience by a faculty of distinguished teachers and scientists.
CEBS invites applications from eligible candidates for two Research Associate (RA) positions for the School of Biological Sciences at UM-DAE CEBS.

Name of the Projects – The Research Associates in Biology will work on the projects titled/ subject –
- ‘Stress biology and biotechnology of Deinococcus radiodurans and Anabaena ‘, and “Investigation of multiprotein complexes in organisms exposed to stress conditions.”
Age – The candidate should not be more than 32 years as of 30th June 2022.
Tenure – The position is offered on an annually renewable basis, and is tenable for up to three years.

Emoluments – Commensurate with post-Ph.D. research experience of the candidate, in the range of Rs. 47,000 – Rs. 54,000 (+ HRA as per rule) per month.
Duties and Responsibilities – The candidate will be working in the Biology laboratory at CEBS and will also need to teach a course and/or conduct practicals at CEB S as part of his/her duties.
Essential Qualifications – A PhD in Microbiology/ Molecular Biology/ Biochemistry/ Biotechnology/ Applied Biology specialization and at least two publications in peer-reviewed research journals (of which at least one should be the first author).
Experience – The candidate should have a good knowledge of modem biology and research experience in microbiology and recombinant DNA techniques. Detailed knowledge and proficiency in recombinant DNA technology are desirable.
