The Institute of Advanced Virology (IAV) is an autonomous institution under the Department of Science & Technology, Government of Kerala focuses on cutting-edge research initiatives in virology. IAV envisions to function through the eight departments in specific areas of Virology. To strengthen the research activities, we seek highly dynamic and committed scientists for appointment to the following permanent positions on a direct recruitment/deputation basis.

Age: 37 years

Pay scale: 15600-39100 GP6600 (as per 6th CPC)

• Clinical Virology/Epidemiology/Public Health – 1

Qualifications:

Essential:

• Three-year Master’s degree in Medical/Dental Sciences (MD/DNB/MDS); or PhD in
the subject area of General Microbiology/Medical Microbiology/Biotechnology/
Biochemistry/Virology/Immunology/Structural biology
• 3 Years of research experience after obtaining the qualifying degree in reputed
National or International research organizations in the subject area of the
the department opted by the applicant
• First-author original research publications, other than systematic reviews, in the
the subject area of the department opted by the applicant in Pubmed /SCI indexed peer-reviewed journals of repute

Desirable:

• Corresponding author research publication/s in the subject area of the department
opted in a reputed peer-reviewed Pubmed/SCI indexed journal/s.
• Efficiency in independent project handling as evidenced by completed funded
projects

• Three-year MD/MDS; or a Ph.D. after MBBS/BDS
• 15-year experience in biomedical research, including clinical research in
  reputed National or international research organizations

  biomedical and clinical research in Pubmed/SCI indexed peer-reviewed
  journals of repute
• Corresponding author research publications in clinical virology in reputed
  peer-reviewed Pubmed/SCI indexed journals.

General Conditions & Instructions:

• Applications are to be submitted in the prescribed format available on the Institute website (www.iav.kerala.gov.in). Last date of application submission: August 31, 2022; 5.00 p.m.
• The vacancies are department-wise, and the applicants have to exercise their choice of department at the time of submission of the application itself.
• The choice of the department will be binding. The choice has to be made carefully, based on preference, experience and credentials.
• All applications will be screened by a committee for the suitability of the candidates for the
  applied positions based on the self-appraisal and supporting documents submitted.
• Only applications submitted in the prescribed format; and of those candidates meeting all the essential qualifications, provided with supporting evidence, will be considered for
  shortlisting.
• Institute may shortlist a person for positions lower than what they applied for (in the
  department for which the application is made) if the eligibility is for the lower position.
• Shortlisted candidates will be called for anin-person interview by a duly
  constituted selection committee.
• No interim inquiries/correspondence/communication of any sort will be entertained during the selection procedure.
• The decision by the selection committee will be final and binding.
• Canvassing in any manner would entail automatic disqualification of the candidature.
• The Director, IAV, reserves the right to decide on the number of positions to be filled; and on any matter related to the selection procedure, including cancellation of the selection process, if circumstances demand so.
