Post I
Name of the Post – Lab Technician (Zebra fish facility)
No. of Posts – 01 (One)
Tenure of the appointment – Initially for six months, extendable for a further period subject to satisfactory performance of the incumbent.
Age – Not more than 30 years as of the date of walk-in-interview.
Post II
Name of the Post – Senior Project Associate (Fly facility)
No. of Posts – 01 (One)
Tenure of the appointment – Initially for six months, extendable for a further period subject to satisfactory performance of the incumbent.
Age – Not more than 35 years as of the date of walk-in-interview.

No. 34, Second Floor, Main Building, IISER, Pune, Dr. Homi Bhabha Road, Pune – 411008.Candidates reporting after 02.30 PM will not be considered for the selection process.
At the time of Walk-in interviews, applicants need to bring –
- Duly filled prescribed application form (available below advertisement link)
- All the originals and one set of self-attested photocopies of –
a. Certificate regarding date of birth.
b. Mark sheets and certificates (starting from 10th onward) regarding educational qualifications
c. All Certificate/s regarding experience/s as mentioned in the application form.
d. One Photo Identity proof (Government issued) - One recent passport size colour photograph
General Information/Details about the post –
- The appointment is purely temporary and will terminate automatically without any notice or compensation on the termination of the project.
- The appointed person shall have no claim of appointment/absorption in Funding Agency or in IISER Pune.
- The qualification prescribed should have been obtained from recognized Universities /
Institutions. - The prescribed educational qualification is the bare minimum and mere possession of the same does not entitle candidates to be called for the selection process. Where the number of applications received in response to this advertisement is large, it may not be convenient or possible to carry out the selection process for all the candidates. Based on the recommendations of the Screening Committee, the Project Investigator may restrict the number of candidates to be called for the selection process to a reasonable limit after taking into consideration qualification and experience over and above the minimum prescribed in the advertisement. Therefore, it will be in the interest of the candidates, to mention all their qualifications and experience in the relevant field at the time of applying.
- Age relaxation is commensurate with educational qualification/s and/or experience/s of
the applicant may be considered for candidates having qualifications and experience
higher than the advertised with the prior approval of the competent authority. - In case, a selected candidate does not join or resigns after joining the post, waitlisted
candidate/s may be offered the position. - No TA/DA will be admissible for appearing for the interview.
- No interim enquiries/correspondence/communication of any sort will be entertained on the matter.
- Canvassing in any form and/or bringing any influence, political, or otherwise, will be treated as a disqualification for the post applied for
Note – Wearing a helmet while driving a two-wheeler inside IISER Pune Campus is
MANDATORY.

‘COVID-19: Important Instructions’
- Candidates should maintain social distancing all the time.
- Spitting is strictly prohibited.
- Candidates should carry a hand sanitiser, water bottle and face mask for personal use.
It is mandatory to wear a double face mask / disposable mask available at the venue
covering the nose and mouth at all times. - The candidate should not share personal items with any other individual.
- It is mandatory to undergo thermal scanning at the time of entering the Venue for the
Interview. - Candidate should mandatorily submit self-declaration (given on the next page)
For Post I
Job Requirement – The incumbent is expected to take care of the daily management of Zebrafish; management of records and other routine activities of the facility
Minimum Educational Qualification – B. Sc or equivalent degree in Life Sciences
Experience – Minimum 1 year of experience in Zebrafish husbandry and maintenance.
Consolidated emoluments – Rs. 25,000/- per month
For Post II
Job Requirement – The incumbent is expected to take care of daily management of Drosophila; stock keeping, transgenic generation using a microinjector, management of records and other routine activities of the facility. Knowledge of genetics and media preparation is a requirement
Minimum Educational Qualification – M.Sc. or equivalent degree in Life Sciences
Experience – Minimum 4 years of experience in Drosophila husbandry and maintenance in an Academic or technological organization.
Consolidated emoluments – Rs. 45,000/- per month
