INSTRUCTIONS TO THE CANDIDATES –
- Bring the filled-in application with one set of photocopies of qualification and experience and other testimonials.
- The Candidates should bring filled application form in the prescribed format which can be
downloaded from the NIRT website http://www.nirt.res.in along with all certificates/
testimonials in original for verification. Candidates are requested to bring one set of
self-attested copies while attending the Walk-in written test/interview. Candidates who fail to bring the Original Certificates for the Walk-in written test/interview will not be considered. - Age relaxation is admissible in respect of SC/ST/OBC candidates, Retrenched Government Employees, Departmental Candidates (including projects) and Ex-Servicemen in accordance with the instructions issued by the Central Government from time to time. Age concession to the extent of service rendered in other research projects will also be admissible for experienced and skilled persons. SC/ST/OBC will be given age relaxation in respect of the posts reserved for them only and not for UR posts.
- Experience certificate should clearly state the nature of work during the period of
employment. - No-Objection Certificate from the current employer (for Govt./AB/PSU Servants only).
- All posts are Contractual for the duration offered. The engagement may be renewed after every specific period of time subject to satisfactory performance and project requirement.
- The incumbents selected will have no claim for regular appointments under NIRT/ICMR or continuation of his/her services in any other project.
- TA/DA will not be paid by NIRT for attending the written test/ interview.
- The Director, ICMR-NIRT reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of posts or cancel the recruitment or re-advertise the posts, without assigning any reasons thereof, no further correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
- Any further information may be downloaded from the ICMR-NIRT website which will be
updated from time to time. - The date of the Walk-in written test/Interview may be changed due to administrative reasons, hence, candidates are advised to check the website before appearing for the Walk-in written test/Interview.
Interested candidates fulfilling the required qualification may download the prescribed
application form from the website www.nirt.res.in, www.icmr.nic.in and walk-in on the date and time mentioned above, at ICMR-National Institute for Research in Tuberculosis, No.1, Mayor Sathyamoorthy Road, Chetpet, Chennai 600 031. The filled-in application along with self-attested copies of all credentials in support of educational qualifications, age, caste/community and affixing a colour passport size photograph on the application form should be carried with while reporting for walk-in written test/interview. Original Certificates of all these credentials should also be carried with for verification.
The Director /Selection Committee has the right to accept/reject any application without assigning any reason thereof.
Canvassing and bringing pressure in any form for shortlisting, interview and employment will be a disqualification and barred from the selection process.
Date of Walk-in-written test/interview & Reporting time – 25.01.2022 9.00 AM TO 10.00 AM (written test/interview 11.00 AM onwards)
For Post I
Emoluments – Salary of Rs.47,000/- plus HRA of Rs.12,690/- per month
Essential Qualification – PhD in any branch of Biology/Life Science or equivalent degree
or having 3 years of research/teaching experience. At least one research paper in Science Citation Indexed (SCI) journal.
Desirable Qualification
- PhD degree in biological sciences; preference would be given for research experience in culture work, in-vitro cell culture, PBMC isolation, PBMC cryopreservation, handling of clinical samples and efficiency in working with computer is a must. Persons with
expertise in immunological assays and/or Flow cytometry related work, etc., will be preferred. - Minimum three years of research/ teaching experience with PhD. The candidate should have at least one first-author publication in indexed journals in the field of parasite biology/vector biology. Minimum of one research publication in international journals.
Nature of Duties –
- RA-I – in-vitro cell culture, PBMC isolation, PBMC cryopreservation, handling of clinical samples, handling Flow cytometry experiments like Immunophenotyping, Molecular Biology experiments like RNA Isolation and quantification and efficiency in working with biological software is a must.
- Persons with expertise in immunological assays and/or Flow cytometry related work.
- To ensure timely completion of research objectives.
- Coordination among the SRFs and JRFs work, data collection, analysis and compilation, Report preparation, Reporting of project progress with PI and other project partners.
For Post II
Emoluments – Salary of Rs.35,000/- plus HRA of Rs.9,450/- per month
Essential Qualification – Master’s Degree in Life Science/Biotechnology from a recognized
university with 2 years of research experience in TB or/COVID-19. Adequate experience in field immunology.
Desirable Qualification
- Research experience (Hands-on) in laboratory techniques such as invitro cell culture, PBMC isolation, PBMC cryopreservation, handling of clinical samples etc. Peer-reviewed publications in TB and COVID immunology. Experience in writing scientific manuscripts.
Nature of Duties –
- Planning and conducting laboratory-based studies on the immunology of TB- COVID-19.
- Lab technical work will consist of utilizing different techniques necessary for the project including flow cytometry, ELISA, PCR and other molecular biological and immunological techniques.
- Data collection, recording, processing using computer software.
For Post III
Emoluments – Salary of Rs.31,000/- plus HRA of Rs.8,370/- per month
Essential Qualification – Master’s degree in Bio-Statistics from a recognized university
Desirable Qualification
- One year of research experience in working with clinical/Research studies. Experience in handling data collection, recording, drafting analysis tables, good conceptual and analytical skills and Wide-ranging computer skills
Nature of Duties –
- Perform data cleaning and management of the data being generated from NIRT-ICER research studies.
- Work with Statistical packages like STATA, SPSS, R Software Latex for data analysis.
- Involve in monitoring the daily work reports generated.
For Post IV
Emoluments – Salary of Rs.31,000/- plus HRA of Rs.8,370/- per month
Essential Qualification – Post Graduate Degree in Microbiology
OR
Post Graduate Degree in Bio-Technology
Desirable Qualification
- One year of research experience in handling Mycobacterial cultures and molecular techniques. Experience in handling data, recording, drafting analysis tables, good conceptual and analytical skills and Wide-ranging computer skills.
Nature of Duties –
- Mycobacterial culture in large scale
- Preparation of culture filtrate proteins and analysis
- Mass Spec Analysis
- Immunological Assays
