We are looking to hire a Research Executive/ Senior Research Executive based in Bangalore.
The Human Microbiome team is involved in generating insights and delivering new technologies to various brand names in Beauty and also Personal Care (BPC). A key part of this involves building scientific understanding as well as capabilities in the Host Defense area. A drive area within the program is to build a new ability to understand the interaction of actives and formulations with the host innate defences, the host response to the deposited actives, and also their synergy with metabolites from bacteria as well as human cells. This work is critical in the evaluation of technologies along with a mechanistic understanding of bacterial and host interplay as well as a key
to the development of new technologies of microbiome management for BPC categories.This role will certainly concentrate on acquiring and performing the following obligations:
- Use existing methodologies for in vitro and also in vivo evaluation of technologies that interact with innate immunity.
- Screen as well as identify novel molecules that trigger and/or synergize with innate defence pathways or molecules.
- Execute experimental protocols and also methodologies to identify innate defence markers.
- Detection and quantification of innate defence molecules using analytical and/or advanced microscopy techniques, or any novel methods as may be the needed, based on project requirements.
- Keep up to date on scientific literature.
- Interpret data and also communicate scientific results through data tools, ELN, technological reports and also presentations.
- Effective team working with various other members of the HM team located in Bangalore and various other R&D sites.
- Support training as well as management of external/outsourcing services in academic and also 3P laboratories in specific areas as appropriate.
- Support management of day-to-day operations of the laboratory and also establishing best practices in operations and maintenance of instruments utilized.
- Executing projects assigned to ensure OTIF delivery. Monitor progress, provide active support in troubleshooting and also query resolution.
- Interact within the project team, with coworkers and various other Unilever teams to translate insights to technologies and also move the projects forward.
- Engage with external labs (academic/ 3P) to generate scientific insights or outsource routine analysis and also co-ordinate to guarantee good data generation.
Key Requirements:
- M.Sc. in Life Sciences, preferably Microbiology or Biotechnology.
- 2 to 5-year experience in Cell Biology/Tissue Culture gained either via industrial or academic research, post-MSc degree.
- Experience in experimental design, data analysis, data validation and documentation.
- A basic appreciation of stats and also data analysis tools.
- Ought to be a team player as well as have good communication abilities.
- Interested to develop knowledge and also understanding of present and also emerging techniques that could be used to improve project deliveries.
- Well organized, self-motivated, enthusiastic, and also confident.
