Nature & Period of Post: Appointment as JRF is temporary as well as will certainly be initially for a duration of one year. The position is extendable up to a total of 3 years based on performance.

Essential Qualification For TIFR Job:

  • M.Sc. in Biology with a minimum of 60% marks. OR B.E./ B.Tech. in Biotechnology
    with minimal 60% marks.
  • GATE/NET/JEST/ TIFR written entrance test qualification (any one) is required at the time of joining. If you have actually given either of these exams and the results are awaited within the next 2 months, then you can apply.

Desirable Qualification: Research experience in any one or more of the following: synthesis and characterization of organic molecules/fluorescence spectroscopy/mammalian cell culture/fluorescence microscopy.

Job Requirement:

The JRF will be a part of the Chemical Biology and also Molecular Imaging research program (PI: Ankona Datta) at the Department of Chemical Sciences at TIFR. The appointee will be expected to perform cutting-edge research in the development of fluorescent chemo-sensors for imaging bio-molecules. The project will assist the JRF to develop abilities in synthetic chemistry, fluorescence spectroscopy, handling cellular and multicellular systems, and confocal fluorescence microscopy. Candidates motivated to build a research career in chemical biology and also excited to work at the interface of chemistry and biology, with prior research experience in any kind of of the aforementioned techniques will be preferred.
