ICMR welcomes on-line applications, from Indian Citizens, up to 8th January 2020 till 5:30 PM to fill the following post to be filled purely on a short-term basis under “ICMR Computational Genomics Centre” under Dr Harpreet Singh, Head, Division of Biomedical Informatics (BMI), ICMR HQRS, New Delhi110029.

Post I 

Name of the Post: Scientist-B (Bioinformatics)

No. of Posts: (Two Post) UR

Age Limitation: Not exceeding 35 years relaxable up to 5 years for SC/ST/OBC candidates in accordance with the instruction issued by the Department of Personnel as well as Training from time to time in this regard.

Post II

Name of the Post: Scientist-C (Bioinformatics)

No. of Posts: (One Post) UR

Age Limitation: Not exceeding 40 years relaxable up to 5 years for SC/ST/OBC candidates in accordance with the instruction issued by the Department of Personnel as well as Training from time to time in this regard.

1. The post is to be filled on a totally temporary basis and also will certainly be originally for a period of one year.
2. The appointment can be terminated with one month notice from either side without assigning any kind of reason.
3. Since the post is purely temporary, the incumbents selected will have no claim for regular appointments under ICMR or continuation of his/her services in any other project.
4. Benefits of Provident fund, CCA, Leave Travel Concession, Medical claim etc. are not
   applicable.
5. No Age relaxation against the Unreserved openings according to Govt. of India orders
   No. 36011/1/98/ Estt( Res) dated 1/7/1998.
6. No TA/DA etc. will be offered to attend the Interview or joining of post and candidate should make his/her own arrangement for stay for the interview and also joining of the post.
7. Qualification and experience need to be from a reputed organization.
8. The experience will certainly be counted only after completion of minimum educational qualification.
9. Mere fulfilling the essential qualification does not ensure for the interview call and selection.
10. Canvassing in any type of form will be a disqualification.
11. Persons already in regular time scale service under any Government Department/ Organizations are not eligible to apply.
12. Consolidated salary of the post may be revised according to ICMR instructions.
13. PhD or MD degree in subjects pertinent to the Indian Council of Medical Research shall be treated equal to 3 years of experience respectively. The chosen candidates will certainly work in the project mentioned above as well as on any other work that may be assigned by the Principal Investigator from time to time.

For Post I 

Salary: Consolidated Salary of Rs. 48,000/- + HRA according to rules.

Essential Qualification: 1st class Master’s degree in Bioinformatics or relevant discipline from a recognised university with 2-year experience in the pertinent subject.
OR
2nd Class M.Sc. + PhD in Bioinformatics or related discipline from a recognised
university with 1-year experience in the pertinent subject.

For Post II

Salary: Consolidated salary of Rs. 51,000/- + HRA based on rules.

Essential Qualification: 1st class Master’s degree in Bioinformatics or relevant discipline from a recognised university with 4-year experience in the pertinent subject.
OR
2nd Class M.Sc. + PhD in Bioinformatics or related discipline from a recognised
university with 4-year experience in the pertinent subject.

For Post I & Post II

Desirable Qualification:

1. Experience in handling as well as analysis Next-Generation Sequencing data
2. Experience in a scripting language (PERL/PYTHON etc.).
3. Experience in conceptualizing and also executing collaborative/independent research project.
4. Doctorate or M.Tech Degree in Bioinformatics/Computational Biology or pertinent subject from a recognized University.
5. Extra Post Doctoral research/ 2 years of teaching experience in Computer Science in recognized institute( s) after obtaining essential qualifications.

Duties/Responsibilities:

1. Work on research project available with the Centre.
2. Providing consultancy/assistance to medical research groups on making use of genomics tools and also techniques for their research.
3. Increase awareness of latest Genomics techniques through lectures, small workshops as well as other media such as emails, participating in medical society meetings, CMEs, blogs, notice boards etc.
4. Outreach Centre’s activities through advertisements at various forums.
5. Initiate collaborative research projects with medical researchers.
6. Help medical researchers in preparing service requested for availing services of the.
   Centre.
7. Work on collaborative research projects initiated by the Exploratory Team.
8. Providing technical support to the Exploratory Team (if needed).

KEEP IN MIND: PhD in relevant subject shall be treated equal to 3 years of experience.
Candidates with PhD or M. Technology degree will certainly be preferred.
