Japanese Government [MEXT] Scholarship Program

The Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) is offering scholarships to Indian students for pursuing graduate courses at Japanese university as research students (either non-degree or degree students) under the Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship Program for 2019. The subjects, courses and their eligibility are as follows:

Level: Research/Masters Course/Ph. D. course

Age: Under 35 (born on or after April 2, 1985)

Fields of study:

(A) Japan-related Humanities (B) Japan associated Social Science (C) Information Technology (D) Mathematical Science (E) Physics (F) Chemistry and Chemical Engineering (G) Biology and Biotechnology (H) Agriculture and Fishery (I) Environmental Science (J) Pharmaceutical Science (K) Geology and Geoinformatics (L) Civil Engineering (M) Architecture (N) Material Science / Engineering (O) Electrical Engineering (P) Electronics & Communications Engineering (Q) Mechanical Engineering (R) Aerospace Engineering (S) Robotics.

Qualification conditions:

1. For Research Student / Master’s Degree

Bachelor’s Degree in the relevant field with minimum 65% marks. The candidates must acquire their mark sheet and degree on or before 31st March 2020 for April 2020 batch and 30th

September 2020 for October 2020 batch.

2. For a PhD Degree

Master’s degree in the relevant field with minimum 65% marks. Candidate having practical research/teaching/work experience after obtaining the prescribed eligibility on or before 31st March 2020 for April 2020 batch and 30th September 2020 for October 2020 heap.

3. For Research Student/Master’s degree in the Japanese Language

A) Students who have completed a Bachelor’s degree / Master’s degree course in the Japanese Language from a recognized university.

OR

B) Students who have finished a Bachelor’s degree course in any subject from a recognized university and obtained N2 Certification of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) conducted by the Japan Foundation.

4. For a PhD degree in the Japanese Language

Students who have finished a Master degree course in the Japanese Language from a recognized university.

The term of scholarship: two years out of April or 1 and a half a year from October*1 (Including a half year of Japanese language training period*2)

Number of scholarships: To be announced

Stipend: 144,000 Yen/ month (Approx. Rs. 89,440 / month for the year 2019 *3)

Tuition Fees: Exempted

Airfare: Round-trip airfare will be provided

*1: If a student opts for a Masters or PhD program, the scholarship term may get extended, given he has an outstanding academic accomplishment that matches certain criteria determined by the MEXT.
*2: It’ll be exempted if the student has a fantastic ability of Japanese Language or enters the courses offered in English.
*3: The sum will be subject to change Based upon the Yearly budget of every year

  1. How to fill the form…..should I have to first take a print out….than send to the given mail…..or here only fill it frm system
