The role is responsible for on-site supervision of key ingredient suppliers. it is a very challenging role as the incumbent will be onsite abbott representative who will work with key ingredient suppliers and develop/provide support them to the abbott expectations in terms of technical, gmp and other quality standards as per abbott guidelines.
The role envisages the achievement of manufacturing targets, sustainability of ingredients, meeting all key performance indicators at site.
key responsibilities:
- The incumbent might have to relocate/travel to other supplier locations.
- Managing the day-to-day action plans and communication with QA and technical operations team.
- Monitoring of production activities, in-process check, Sampling, Cleaning schedules, Process Control at supplier site.
- Site Liaison between Supplier and Abbott.
- Responsible for quality as per Abbott requirements & appropriate actions in case deviations, RCA and CAPA implementation at site.
- Ensure quantity fulfilment of supplies as per plan through effective communications with key stakeholders, tracking on logistics & Supplies.
- To support in implementation/conduct of systems, audits, training, workshop by Abbott & ensures 100% compliance & no critical findings in Abbott Audits.
- Good understanding of GMP & Hygiene practices.
- Share daily production report to Abbott team & escalate abnormalities promptly.
- Establish weekly, monthly, Quarterly & yearly Quality/Production reports.
- Good warehouse practices & Pest management.
- Establishing close and effective working relationship with the main functions of the supplier such as Planning, Purchasing, Finance, Quality Assurance, Compliance, Supply Chain and Logistics.
- Support qualification of new suppliers ensuring implementation.
Experience/knowledge/technical skills required:
- Bachelor/Master’s Degree in Food/Sugar Technology/Food Science, Engineering or similar discipline.
- Minimum 3-4 years of experience in some or all of the following disciplines: Food Processing, Supplier Development, technical services, supplier quality assurance, Plant operations
Know how- Understanding of Food manufacturing process & Unit Operations.
Hands on experience is preferred in manufacturing of Non-dairy ingredients (like Sugar, Maltodextrin, Edible Oils, Minerals & Vitamins, Nutritional Products, quality assurance and technical oversight.
Knowledge of general microbiology preference is Sugar Microbiology/ chemical/ Physical hazards and understanding of Analytical testing.
Good data analytical skills.
