Job Title : Agronomist Rice
Location – Guwahati
MAJOR TASK AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Execute trials for rice development in Assam & Meghalaya.
- To conduct product development trials for evaluating the local potential of experimental hybrids in MST, RST & OFD in Assam & Meghalaya.
- To conduct agronomic trials to standardize optimum cultivation package of precommercial
and commercial hybrids for local conditions. - To contribute in registration trials as required with government authorities.
- Assist in market development trials (distribution of seed and technical guidance).
- Maintaining the relevant data pertaining to experimental hybrid evaluation trials done in on-station and on-farm, as well as agronomic package trials and ensuring information security on these data.
- Transfer technical knowledge of pre-commercial and commercial hybrids to Marketing Team, Portfolio Management Team, Sales Team, Dealers and Distributors for the market development of rice hybrids in Assam.
WHO YOU ARE :
- M.Sc. degree in agriculture, major in Agronomy / Plant Breeding / Seed technology.
- 2-3 years of experience in hybrid rice Product development / Agronomic development of field crop (Preferably Rice).
- Relevant research and experimental skills with adequate know-how in conducting varietal trials on-station and on-farm.
- Knowledge of Experimental design, statistical analysis & basics of Plant Breeding and Agronomy.
