Job Title : Asia/Africa Global Breeding Data Solution Team: Data Analyst
Responsibilities include:
- Deploying and implementing tools for data management, software and statistical/genetic analysis strategies
- Accountable and responsible for Phenotypic and Genotypic data management and data integrity/quality across Asia Africa hubs
- Secure data movement to be presented in standard visualizations that enable key decision
- Supporting yield testing teams to improve data quality and completeness as it relates to QA/QC, plot designs, testing location information.Additionally, working with the team to improve testing footprint and data quality
- Support global teams in Asia, Africa and China as well as interact with North American locations to align strategies and maximize resources
Required Education & Skills/Experience:
- Master’s degree in engineering, bioinformatics, IT, mathematics, Agriculture or a related field
- Solid knowledge of statistical theory and analysis and experimental designs
- Strong Computer skills related to data management and analysis such as SAS, R, Python, GIS, Database management, and Spotfire/Tableau
- Ability to work in a matrix environment, influencing people at varying levels of responsibility
- Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and written communication skills
- Strong teamwork, influencing and organization skills required to interact in the regions and into the Monsanto global teams, communicating complex technical information to a variety of team members in a clear and concise manner
- Ability to work collaboratively on teams and ability to collaborate effectively in interdisciplinary teams
- Experience analyzing and presenting complex data with proven problem solving abilities
Desired Education & Skills/Experience:
- Doctorate in engineering, bioinformatics, IT, mathematics, Agriculture or a related field
- At least three years’ experience delivering high quality analytics solutions to complex business problems and applying sophisticated scientific methods using machine learning and statistical learning
- R or Python advanced knowledge including data mining, statistical tests, machine learning packages
- Ability to deliver innovative and creative solutions to complex problems
