REQUIRES FOLLOWING POSITIONS PURELY ON CONTRACTUAL BASIS FOR PUNJAB STATE CLIMATE CHANGE KNOWLEDGE CENTRE :
Position 1
Job Title : Scientist ‘C’ : One (Direct/Deputation)
Scale of Pay : Rs. 15600-39100 (Grade Pay- Rs.6600/-)
(A) Educational and other qualifications required for direct recruits :
(a) Essential :
(i) Master’s Degree in Environment/Life Sciences/ Agriculture/Forestry & Natural Resources or Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental/Civil/ Chemical Engineering from a recognized University or equivalent in first Division.
(ii) Four years work experience after Graduation or Post Graduation as the case may be out of which two years should be in relevant fields such as environment/climate change/ pollution control.
(b) Desirable :
(i) Doctorate degree in Environment/ Life Sciences/ Agriculture I Forestry & Natural Resources or Master’s Degree in Environmental Engineering from a recognized University or equivalent in first Division.
(ii) More than two years experience in relevant. fields such as environment/ climate change/ pollution control.
Job Description: Identification of state specific problems and relevant technologies, development of R&D projects, arrange/access financial assistance for projects, liaison with departments
. national and international R&D institutions. data/information need assessment, analysis and interpretation of data, field survey, development of resource material, organization of capacity building programmes/stakeholder meetings/ workshops/ brainstorming sessions, preparation of reports, undertaking collaborative works with educational, R&D, NGOs and other institutions. etc. or any other work related to the project assigned by the Council from time to time.Position 2
Scientist ‘B’ : One (Direct/Deputation)
Scale of Pay : Rs. 15600-39100 (Grade Pay – Rs.5400/-)
(A) Educational and other qualifications required for direct recruits:
(a) Essential :
(i) Master’s Degree in Environment/life Sciences/ Agriculture/Forestry & Natural Resources or Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental/ Civil/Chemical Engineering from a recognized University or equivalent in first Division.
(ii) Two years work experience after Graduation or Post Graduation as the case may be out of which one year should be in relevant fields such as environment/climate change/ pollution control
(b) Desirable :
Doctorate degree in Environment/ Life Sciences/Agriculture om a recognized University or equivalent.

Note: Period spent on acquiring essential qualifications shall not count towards experience. However, period spent on obtaining doctorate degree from a recognized University or Institution subject to a· maximum of two years or period spent on Post Doctorate research in a University or research Institute as. evidenced by certification by such University or Institute and publication of research work in journals of repute, subject to maximum of two years, shall be counted as experience.
Age limit for direct recruits as on the last date of receipt of applications –
The upper age limit for direct recruitment shall not exceed 35 years (relaxable upto 5 years for Government servants including those serving on contracUoutsource basis in government departments/organizations)

(i) Punjabi upto Matriculation or equivalent and knowledge of computers shall be essential for both the posts mentioned above.
(ii) The number of posts can increase or decrease.
(iii) All the candidates who had applied for the posts of Scientist ‘B’ and/or Scientist ‘C’ in response to the advertisement appeared in The Tribune’ and ‘Ajit’ newspapers on 01.05.2015 and 06.01.2016 would be eligible for the respective posts if they meet the qualifications and other conditions mentioned in the advertisement appeared on 01.06.2016 (which are same as given in this advertisement). Such candidates need not apply again.They would, however, be required to submit their interest to be considered for these posts and may also submit their CVs with amendments, if any.
