Applications are invited in the prescribed format to fill up the following posts of Assistant Professor in the University.
Food Sciences Faculty
Basic Subjects – Biochemistry / Economics / Food Nutrition / Food Microbiology / Biotechnology (Posts)
No of Posts : 3 – GT-1,SC(A) (W)-1 & MBC / DC – 1
Requirement :
(i) Good academic record as defined by the University with at least 55% of marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the Master’s Degree level in the concerned subject from a University recognized by UGC, India or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign University. A minimum OGPA of 2.25/4.00 or 6.50/10.00 or its equivalent is essential.
(ii) The candidates should possess a Master’s degree in the concerned subject with NET qualification.
(iii) Ph.D degree with course work component is desirable.
(iv) For the candidates having Master’s degree, National Eligibility Test (NET) in the relevant subject conducted by the ASRB, UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC (SLET/SET) shall remain compulsory. One publication in NAAS (National Academy of Agricultural Sciences, New Delhi) rated refereed journal for recruitment to the
post of Assistant Professor and equivalent in the disciplines in which NET is conducted is desirable. Essentiality of NET can be waived off for candidates holding the Ph.D., Degree provided it has been done with course work as prescribed by the UGC Regulations 2009 (Minimum Standards and Procedures for Award of Ph.D., degree), It is desirable for candidate to have at least two full length publications having a NAAS rating not less than 4, on the cutoff date for qualification. Those candidates with Ph.D., degree without course work will not qualify for NET exemption.(v) NET/SLET/SET shall not be required for posts with such Master’s Programme in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted.

The duly filled in application form should reach the Registrar, Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Madhavaram Milk Colony, Chennai-51 on or before 5.00 p.m. on 28 /12/2016 along with the Registration fee of Rs.1000/- (Rupees one thousand only) / Rs.500/-(Rupees five hundred only in case of SC/ST candidates) by crossed Demand Draft drawn at any nationalised bank in favour of “The Finance Officer, Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Chennai- 600 051” payable at Chennai.

The Demand Draft should be dated not earlier than 26/11/2016. The candidates should specify in their application form “Application for the post of Assistant Professor / ‘Assistant Professor-Backlog vacancies.”
- The candidates who are willing to serve in this University for not less than a minimum period of three years alone shall apply.
- The candidates selected for the above posts by this University should execute a bond to serve this University for a minimum period of three years: failing which he/she should pay a sum of Rs.30.000/- (Rupees thirty thousand only) as prescribed in this University Regulation from time to time .
- The bond should be executed before joining duty.
- Cutoff date for all qualifications is 31/10/2016. Proof (self attested photo copies) should be enclosed with the application. Certificates issued after the cutoff date will not be considered.
