The Advanced Centre for Treatment, Research and Education in Cancer (ACTREC) is the state-of-the-art R&D satellite of the Tata Memorial Centre (TMC), which also includes under its umbrella the Tata Memorial Hospital (TMH), the largest cancer hospital in Asia. ACTREC has the mandate to function as a national centre for treatment, research and education in cancer. TMC is an autonomous grant-in-aid institution of the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India. It is registered under the Societies Registration Act (1860) and the Bombay Public Trust Act (1950). Its Governing Council is headed by the Chairman, Atomic Energy Commission, Government of India.
A Walk-in Interview is being held for the following posts:
Name of the post: Scientific Assistant
Name of the project: Analysis of HPV, EGFER and Hypoxia markers and their association with outcome in subjects with locally advanced Squamous Cell Carcinoma of Head and Neck.
Duration of the project: Three years
Name of the Principal Investigator: Dr. Manoj Mahimkar
Funding Agency: SERB (DST)
Eligibility:
- B. Sc. in Life Sciences or allied subject areas with >60% marks.
- Candidates with experience in human studies including collection of patients data (clinical & survival), administration of informed consent, collection / processing of blood / tissue samples, clinical data management using softwares such as Excel and SPSS will be preferred.
Emolument: Rs. 12,000 per month
Note:
No T.A./D.A. will be admissible for attending the interview.

Eligibility:
- M.Sc. in Life Sciences or allied subject areas with >60% marks and must have two years of post M.Sc. research experience.
- The applicant must be familiar with standard tissue culture and molecular biology techniques such as DNA RNA extraction, PCR, IHC and western blotting, human tissue/ blood handling.
- Candidate with extensive experience in IHC, Western blotting, ELISA and data analysis will be preferred.
- M.Sc. degree obtained after a one year course will not be considered.
Emolument: Rs. 23, 400 per month
