Senior Research Assistant Post Vacant @ Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI)
The Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) is a public private initiative that has collaboratively evolved through consultations with multiple constituencies including Indian and international academia, state and central governments, multi & bi-lateral agencies and civil society groups. PHFI is a response to redress the limited institutional capacity in India for strengthening training, research and policy development in the area of Public Health.

Position Title : Senior Research Assistant
Location : New Delhi
Duration of Position : 9 months or co-terminus with the project, whichever is earlier.
Project Brief:
The New Delhi Birth Cohort is a longitudinal follow-up of about 8000 children born between 1969-1972 to mothers in a defined area of South Delhi. The cohort has been followed up through birth, infancy and childhood, with current studies on the adults largely centered around the assessment of risk factors and outcomes for cardiometabolic diseases. Lung function and mental health of this cohort has yet to be studied. Children of this cohort have been also studied for some of their biochemical markers, but there has been no detailed formal study conducted so far on them
. The current study proposes to study the parents and children of the New Delhi Birth Cohort and assess the lung function and mental health of the parents and chronic disease risk factors and cognitive function of the children.Deliverables:
- Overall co-ordination of the research project.
- Manage the data collection and data entry processes and ensure smooth conduct of the same.
- Assist in data cleaning, analyses and prepartion of publications.
- Assist the PI in organizing study review meetings, report writing and financial accounting.
- Assist the PI in any other tasks related to the project that may arise periodically, trouble-shooting for study logistics, and dissemination of findings.
- Overall management of the study team, project administration, inventory for study instruments and ensure smooth data collection process.
- Any other tasks assigned by the supervisor.
Qualification:
- Essential : Post-graduate degree in Life sciences/Social sciences/Antropology/Sociology
- Desirable : Experience in data management, analyses and paper writing.
Experience:
- Essential : 2 years of Experience in Community-based epidemiological studies or related field.
- Desirable : Effective as a team manager or taking on independent tasks in a responsible manner
Annual Salary (CTC) will commensurate with the available skills and fitment of the incumbent as per the selection process.
