The Institute grew out of the Palit Research Laboratory in Physics of the University of Calcutta (CU). Professor M N Saha came back from Allahabad in 1938 to succeed Sir C V Raman in the Palit Chair of Physics. In the discovery of Nuclear Fission by Otto Hahn and Fritz Strassman in 1939, he had seen immense potential of nuclear science for betterment of the country.
Walk- in interview on 15.09.2016 to be conducted to fill up the position of Research Staff from SERB funded project (EMR/2015/002081) under the guidance of Prof. Kaushik Sengupta, Associate Professor-E, Biophysics & Structural Genomics Division, SAHA INSTITUTE OF NUCLEAR PHYSICS
Position Title: Research Staff
PI: Prof. Kaushik Sengupta, Associate Professor-E, Biophysics & Structural Genomics Division
Eligibility: At least 55% marks in M.Sc in any discipline of Biological Sciences (BIOCHEMISTRY, MICROBIOLOGY, BIOTECHNOLOGY, ZOOLOGY, PHYSIOLOGY and BOTANY)
Age Limit: Not exceeding 28 years of age (As on the date of the interview)
Desirable: Experience/Knowledge of cell biology with special emphasis on cytoskeleton and nucleoskeleton and nuclear architecture is preferable for this position. This project requires a minimum commitment of 3 years for the successful execution
