The Regional Plant Resource Centre (RPRC), Bhubaneswar, was established in 1985 and functions as an autonomous research and development institution under the Government of Odisha. The institute focuses on plant biodiversity conservation, medicinal plant research, plant biotechnology, molecular biology, taxonomy, and environmental research. Over the years, RPRC has collaborated with leading institutions such as CSIR-IMMT, CSIR-NBRI, and ICAR-NRCO while receiving support from various government agencies including the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India.
