Key Responsibilities

  • Perform biologics upstream research and development activities.
  • Execute upstream process optimization and characterization studies.
  • Support technology transfer to GMP manufacturing facilities.
  • Author technical reports, protocols, batch records, and study documents.
  • Conduct scale-up and scale-down studies.
  • Maintain experimental records using electronic lab notebooks.
  • Analyze experimental data and prepare scientific reports.
  • Participate in team meetings and project discussions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Ensure compliance with quality systems and documentation requirements.
  • Maintain laboratory records and archival systems.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives.

Education

M.Tech, or M.Sc. in Life Science/Biotechnology/ Bioprocess Engineering/ Biochemistry or equivalent degree.

Skills and Experience

  • Strong experience in mammalian cell culture, bioreactor operations, and upstream process development for monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) and fusion proteins.
  • Knowledge of upstream process optimization, process characterization, statistics, Design of Experiments (DoE), and data analysis.
  • Hands-on experience with shake flasks, benchtop bioreactors, AMBR250, cell counters, metabolite analyzers, osmometers, and related upstream laboratory equipment.
  • Ability to design, execute, analyze, and present experimental results for process development studies.
  • Experience in cross-functional collaboration to achieve project objectives.
  • Familiarity with electronic laboratory systems such as ELN, EDMS, and TrackWise is preferred.
  • Quick learner with strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
