Position Overview

CSIR-Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB), Hyderabad, invites applications from eligible Indian nationals for the position of Project Associate-I (PAT-I) under a research project focused on developing a Single-Electron Transistor (SET)-based biosensor using functionalized quantum dots for ultra-sensitive biomarker detection.

The selected candidate will contribute to research involving quantum dot synthesis, biosensor development, aptamer-based detection systems, and molecular biology techniques for advanced diagnostic applications.

Eligibility Criteria

Essential Qualification Master’s Degree in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or Molecular Biology from a recognized University/Institution.
Additional Requirement Valid NET or GATE qualification.
Maximum Age Limit 35 Years (as on the date of walk-in interview).


Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • Quantum dot synthesis and characterization.
  • Aptamer-based biosensing techniques.
  • Electrochemical detection methodologies.
  • Quantitative Polymerase Chain Reaction (qPCR).
  • Western Blotting techniques.
  • Biomarker detection and biosensor standardization.

Desirable Experience

Minimum one year of hands-on experience in:

  • Electrochemical detection for aptamer-based biosensing.
  • qPCR assays.
  • Western blot analysis.
  • Molecular biology and biochemical research techniques.

Key Responsibilities

  • Synthesize and functionalize quantum dots for biosensor development.
  • Standardize QD-Aptamer conjugate-based biosensing platforms.
  • Conduct electrochemical detection experiments.
  • Perform molecular biology assays including qPCR and Western blotting.
  • Analyze experimental data and maintain laboratory records.
  • Assist in project reporting, documentation, and publication-related activities.
  • Support development of ultra-sensitive biomarker detection technologies.

Compensation

Monthly Fellowship ₹37,000

Experience Calculation Experience will be counted only after acquiring the minimum prescribed qualification.
Leave Entitlement One day leave will be admissible for each completed month of service.
Working Hours 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM on working days. Candidates may be required to work on weekends, holidays, or beyond regular working hours based on project requirements.
Tax Deduction Income Tax and other applicable statutory deductions will be made at source as per prevailing government regulations.
Confidentiality Selected candidates will be required to maintain strict confidentiality regarding project data, research findings, records, intellectual property, and other information generated during the tenure of the assignment.
Termination Clause The engagement may be terminated by either party by providing one month’s notice or payment of one month’s stipend/remuneration in lieu thereof, subject to the approval of the competent authority.
TA/DA No Travelling Allowance (TA) or Dearness Allowance (DA) will be provided for attending the interview or upon joining the position.
