About the Project
Applications are invited from eligible Indian nationals for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under the DBT-funded research project titled:
“Deciphering Molecular and Physiological Mechanisms Underlying Flood Resilience in Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum)”
The project focuses on understanding the molecular, physiological, and biotechnological mechanisms associated with flood tolerance in tomato plants, with potential applications in crop improvement and agricultural sustainability.
Fellowship / Emoluments
- ₹37,000 per month + HRA
- House Rent Allowance (HRA) will be provided as per DBT, Government of India norms applicable in Pune.
Eligibility Criteria
Essential Qualifications
Candidates must possess:
- Master’s degree with at least 55% marks or equivalent CGPA in:
- Biotechnology
- Agricultural Biotechnology
- Plant Biotechnology
- Plant Science
- Related disciplines
- Qualification in any of the following national-level examinations:
- CSIR-UGC NET
- GATE
- National-level examinations conducted by Central Government departments, agencies, or institutions such as:
- DST
- DBT
- DAE

- ICAR
- ICMR
- IITs
- IISc
- IISERs
- Other equivalent national eligibility examinations
Desirable Qualifications
- Preference will be given to candidates with:
- Strong academic background and research aptitude.
- Prior research experience in:
