About the Project

Applications are invited for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under the ANRF-funded research project titled:

“Role of Neuronal Death and Immune Response in Müller Glia-Mediated Retinal Regeneration in Zebrafish”

The project focuses on understanding the molecular and cellular mechanisms governing retinal regeneration, with particular emphasis on neuronal death, immune responses, and Müller glia function in zebrafish models. The research offers an opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary neuroscience and regenerative biology environment.

Fellowship

  • Year 1 & Year 2: ₹37,000 per month + HRA
  • Year 3: ₹42,000 per month + HRA

Eligibility Criteria

Essential Qualification

Candidates must possess:

  • M.Sc. in any branch of Life Sciences, including but not limited to Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Physiology, Zoology, Biomedical Sciences and Related disciplines
  • Minimum 55% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA from a recognized university.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

Preference will be given to candidates who possess:

  • Valid qualification in:
    • NET
    • GATE
    • CSIR-JRF
    • UGC-JRF
    • DBT-JRF
    • ICMR-JRF
    • Equivalent national-level fellowships
  • Hands-on experience in:
    • Cell Biology Techniques
    • Molecular Biology Techniques
    • Biochemistry Experiments
    • Laboratory Research Methods
  • Experience in:
    • Zebrafish handling and maintenance
    • Regenerative biology research
    • Neurobiology-related laboratory work

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct research related to retinal regeneration and neuroimmune interactions in zebrafish.
  • Perform molecular biology, cell biology, and biochemical experiments.
  • Assist in experimental design, data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
  • Maintain laboratory records and project documentation.
  • Contribute to project reports, scientific publications, and presentations.
  • Collaborate with project investigators and research team members to achieve project objectives.

Selected candidates who qualify through the Amity University Entrance Test may be eligible to enroll in a Ph.D. program at Amity University, Noida with reduced fees, subject to university rules and regulations.
