About the Project

Applications are invited for the position of Project Assistant under the DBT-funded research project titled:

“Sustainable Microalgae–Yeast Biorefinery for Enhanced Lutein and Lipid Production Utilizing Coal-Fired Flue Gas CO₂ Through a Waste-to-Wealth Strategy”

The project aims to develop sustainable biorefinery approaches by integrating microalgae and yeast systems for value-added biomolecule production while utilizing industrial carbon emissions through an environmentally responsible waste-to-wealth strategy.

Fellowship: ₹20,000 per month (Consolidated)

Fellowship may be revised as per the approved norms of the Department of Biotechnology (DBT) and Amity University under the sanctioned project.

Eligibility Criteria

Essential Qualifications

Candidates must possess:

  • M.Sc. or M.Tech. in:
    • Biotechnology
    • Microbiology
    • Biochemistry
    • Environmental Biotechnology
    • Botany
    • Life Sciences
    • Related disciplines
  • Minimum 55% marks or equivalent CGPA from a recognized university or institution.

Desirable Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with:

  • Hands-on experience in:
    • Microalgae cultivation
    • Yeast cultivation
    • Microbial culture techniques
  • Knowledge of:
    • Algal Biotechnology
    • Bioprocess Engineering
    • Wastewater Treatment Technologies
    • Biorefinery Systems
  • Experience in:
    • Molecular Biology Techniques
    • Analytical Instrumentation
    • Biochemical Characterization Methods
  • Strong scientific writing and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in research activities related to microalgae–yeast biorefinery development.
  • Conduct microbial cultivation, laboratory experiments, and data collection.
  • Support biochemical and molecular analyses of experimental samples.
  • Maintain laboratory records and project documentation.
  • Contribute to technical reports, research publications, and project deliverables.
  • Collaborate with project investigators and research team members to achieve project objectives.
