Eligibility Criteria
- M.Sc., or M.Tech. in Basic or Applied Sciences, Engineering, or related areas. Final year students are also eligible, provided they receive their degree before joining.
- Applicants should have a background in physical sciences, chemical sciences, biological sciences, pharma, agri sciences, or other related fields.
- Qualify in at least one of the national examinations: GATE, CSIR/UGC-NET, JEST, JGEEBILS, ICMR-JRF, DBT-JRF, GPAT, or equivalent as per INST rules.
- Age limit as per CSIR-UGC and DST guidelines.
- DST INSPIRE candidates may apply; selection will be temporary, pending fellowship activation.

Selection Procedure
- Shortlisted candidates will be announced on the INST website. Interviews will occur between 01.07.2026 – 03.07.2026.
- Candidates with independent fellowships who meet the shortlisting criteria may walk in for interviews on 03.07.2026, bringing necessary documents.
- Selection will follow the Central Educational Institutions (Reservation in Admission) Act, 2006.
