Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute upstream process development experiments aligned with project objectives, with a strong understanding of cell culture processes and bioprocess principles.
- Conduct process optimization studies using appropriate experimental designs (e.g., DoE) to improve productivity, yield, and product quality.
- Perform scale-up and scale-down studies, ensuring process robustness and reproducibility across scales.
- Support and execute technology transfer from process development to manufacturing scale, including process validation and troubleshooting during scale-up.
- Demonstrate expertise in aseptic techniques, including mammalian handling, media and feed preparation, and sterile filtration.
- Execute development studies across multiple platforms, including shake flasks, Ambr systems, and bench-top bioreactors (2L-10L or higher).
- Ensure all activities comply with GxP guidelines and adhere to ALCOA principles for data integrity and documentation.
- Maintain accurate and complete documentation, including batch records, lab notebooks, protocols, and technical reports.
- Initiate and manage quality events and systems, including Change Controls, Deviations, CAPA, and Risk Assessments.
- Contribute to preparation and review of QMS documentation, including URS, DQ, IQ, OQ, PQ, SOPs, and protocols.
- Train and mentor junior team members, interns, and new hires on lab practices, equipment handling, and SOP adherence.
- Utilize statistical tools such as JMP, Minitab, or SIMCA for data analysis, process optimization, and interpretation of experimental results; experience with these tools is preferred.
- Ensure compliance with Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security (EHSS) policies and maintain safe laboratory practices at all times.
