A total of four Young Professional-II positions are available on a contractual basis.

- Position Title: Young Professional-II
- No. of Positions: Four (04)
- Location: ICAR-Sugarcane Breeding Institute, Coimbatore – 641007
- Emoluments: Rs.42,000/- (Consolidated) per month
- Duration: From the date of joining to 30.09.2026, with the possibility of extension or co-termination with the project as applicable.
Essential Qualifications
M.Sc /M. Tech in Agriculture Biotechnology, Plant Breeding and Genetics, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Basic Sciences, Plant Pathology, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, or Botany.
Desirable Qualifications
- Working knowledge of Molecular Biology, Plant tissue/cell culture, recombinant DNA technology.
- Basic knowledge of bioinformatics.
- Willingness to register for a Ph.D programme.
Age Limit
Minimum age is 21 years and maximum age is 45 years, with relaxation as per Government of India norms.

- Interested candidates with duly filled APPLICATION FORM in the prescribed format can attend the written test cum interview.
- Candidates should bring their bio-data, original certificates, a set of self-attested photocopies, and a recent passport size photograph for verification. Failure to do so will result in disqualification.
- Degree certificates for Graduation/Post-graduation/Professional courses must be presented in original.
- A no objection certificate from the employer is required for employed candidates.

Terms & Conditions
- No TA/DA will be paid for attending the test.
- The position is temporary and co-terminus with the project, with no re-employment provision post-project.
- Selected candidates will work full-time and can register for a Ph.D as per ICAR guidelines.
- Any concealment of facts or canvassing will lead to cancellation of candidature.
- Candidates must be present 60 minutes before the reporting time for document verification.
- Selected candidates must produce all original documents and a medical certificate at the time of joining.
- The Director’s decision at ICAR-SBI will be binding in all aspects.
- The Institute reserves the right to cancel or postpone the interview without prior notice.
- Disputes, if any, will be addressed in the jurisdiction of Coimbatore court only.
