Project Overview

The TATA TCS Biodiversity Park (Hub and Spoke) Project focuses on:

• Conservation of Rare, Endangered, and Threatened (RET) species
• Promotion of Neglected and Underutilized Species (NUS)
• Biodiversity conservation and food security enhancement

The project follows a Hub-and-Spoke implementation model across four districts of North Kerala:

• Wayanad
• Kozhikode
• Malappuram
• Kannur

The initiative integrates:

• In-situ and ex-situ conservation
• Community participation
• Capacity building for tribal youth and stakeholders

Expected outcomes include:

• Restoration of 250 acres of land
• Recovery of 100 RET species
• Improved livelihoods for 1,000 tribal families through NUS-based value chains

Role Summary

The Field Coordinator will be responsible for implementing field-level project activities across stakeholder landscapes and supporting biodiversity conservation initiatives at the grassroots level.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate site-level activities across 4 districts and 12 decentralized nurseries
• Build networks with stakeholders, institutions, and local authorities
• Mobilize and engage tribal communities, women groups, and farmer groups
• Support plantation and maintenance activities for RET and NUS species
• Facilitate training programs, consultations, and co-management systems
• Monitor field activities and submit regular progress reports
• Undertake additional responsibilities assigned by the Project Investigator or Coordinator
