Indian nationals are invited to apply for a temporary position of Project Associate – I under the project entitled “Familial contribution of disease-associated genetic variants and epigenetics for FECD pathogenesis in Indian population” in the School of Biological Sciences, NISER Bhubaneswar funded by DBT, Govt. of India.
Key Responsibilities
- Work under the DBT-funded research project focused on disease-associated genetic variants and epigenetics.
- Participate in research activities related to FECD pathogenesis in the Indian population.
- Support experimental and analytical work in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Genomics, and Bioinformatics.
- Assist the research team in project-related scientific investigations and documentation.
Qualifications
Essential Qualifications
- First class in M.Sc./B.Tech. Biotechnology/Molecular Biology/Genetics/Life Sciences or M.Sc./B.Tech. Bioinformatics.
- Candidates who have valid CSIR-NET/GATE or any other national eligibility test conducted by different agencies of Govt. of India.
Desirable Qualifications
- Preference will be given to candidates having research experience in Molecular Biology / Genetics / Genomics / Bioinformatics.
Experience
- Candidates with prior research experience in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Genomics, or Bioinformatics will be preferred.
- Experience in handling research-based projects and laboratory techniques will be an added advantage for these B Tech Biotechnology Jobs.

Salary Details
Position: Project Associate – I
Monthly Emoluments: ₹31,000/- per month (Consolidated)

Important Information
- The position is purely temporary for a period initially up to a year from the date of hiring.
- The tenure may be extendable for up to two more years based on the performance of the candidate or completion of the project, whichever is earlier.
- The position is strictly co-terminus with the project and does not lead to any PhD degree in NISER.
- The position does not confer any right or claim for consideration/absorption against any NISER post.
