Project Details

Key Responsibilities:
- Hardware design and manufacture
- Writing software for experiment control and quantitative analysis
- Performing implantation surgeries
- Neural recordings and behavioral experiments
- Histology to localize electrodes
- Simultaneous neuronal recordings along the septotemporal and proximodistal extent of CA1
- Recording neural activity in varying spatial environments
- Tracking neuronal activity during post-behavior resting sessions
Qualifications:
- PhD in neuroscience/life sciences/physics/engineering/other quantitative sciences
- Candidates who have submitted their PhD theses are eligible
OR - 3 years of research/design/development experience after ME/MTech
- At least one research paper in a Science Citation Index (SCI) journal
Experience:
- Experience with neurophysiology or animal behavior
- Background in experimental neuroscience research
Skills Needed:
- Good quantitative skills
- Programming ability (Python/C/C++/MATLAB or any other language)
- Knowledge of electrophysiology systems
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
