Role Overview
The Grant Assisted Fellow at the post-doctoral stage will contribute to advanced research in plant epigenetics, focusing on understanding epigenetic mechanisms involved in pollination. The role requires strong expertise in molecular biology, genetics, and computational biology.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research in plant epigenetics and molecular biology as a post-doctoral fellow
- Perform chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP) and next-generation sequencing (ChIP-seq)
- Generate and analyze RNA-seq data, including differential gene expression and pathway analysis
- Utilize bioinformatics tools for epigenomic and transcriptomic data analysis
- Apply advanced molecular biology techniques
- Contribute to scientific communication and research dissemination
Educational Qualification
- Ph.D. in Plant Biology, Plant Biotechnology, Genetics, or allied fields from a reputed institute, meeting typical requirements for a post-doctoral fellow
Essential Requirements
- Strong technical skills in molecular biology, genetics, computational biology, and bioinformatics—skills fundamental for a post-doctoral fellow
- Demonstrated publication record with first-author publications in peer-reviewed journals
- Minimum 60% or equivalent grade from graduation onwards
- Minimum 55% or equivalent grade in Class 10th and 12th
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Desirable Skills
- Expertise in plant epigenetics suited to a profile
- Experience with ChIP and ChIP-seq
- Experience in RNA-seq data generation and analysis
