About the Program
Applications are invited for the Ph.D. Program under the interdisciplinary areas of Clinical Research & Epidemiology, Virology, Maternal and Child Health, Mathematical Biology, Computational Biology, Molecular Microbiology, Diagnostic Innovation, Molecular Diagnostics, Biological Sciences, and Chemical Sciences. These centres are strengthened by core facilities such as the Bioassay Laboratory, Biorepository, Biosafety Level – 3 Lab, Data Management Centre, Immunology Core Laboratory, Multi-OMICS Facility, Experimental Animal Facility, and Vaccine Design and Development Facility.
Eligibility Criteria
- Master’s degree/4-year Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution in any area of science and technology or an equivalent degree with at least 60% marks.
- Must hold a 5-year valid national fellowship of UGC, CSIR, ICMR, DBT, or NBHM.
- Note: The validity for activation of the fellowship shall be for a period of at least 4 months from the last date of receipt of application.
How to Apply?
- Keep required documents ready: photo & signature (image format) and all other certificates in PDF (CV, 10th, 12th, graduation, post-graduation, fellowship, category certificates, etc.)
- Apply online only through the institute website; no other mode of application will be accepted
- Fill application in steps: applicant details → document upload → fee payment → final submission
- Pay application fee via Debit/Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI; no corrections allowed after payment
- Save and keep a copy of the payment receipt for future reference; fees are non-refundable
- Application fee: ₹236 (UR/OBC/EWS) and ₹118 (SC/ST/Women/PwBD)
- After submission, note the reference number received via email and keep a printout of the application form
- Ensure eligibility criteria are met; candidature may be cancelled at any stage if found ineligible
- Incomplete applications will be rejected without any correspondence

Selection Procedure
- The shortlisted candidates will be called directly for the interview. The list of selected candidates will be published on the THSTI’s website.
- Selection will be made based on the applicant’s performance in the interview at THSTI, NCR – BSC, 3rd Milestone, Faridabad – Gurgaon Expressway, Faridabad – 121001.
- No. of seats: 16 (UR: 6; OBC: 3; SC: 2; ST: 3; EWS: 2)
- Note 1: Those who have obtained fellowship under OBC/SC/ST category will be entitled to fill up OBC/SC/ST seats respectively. Such candidates must upload their scorecard while filling out the online application form.
- Note 2: The number of vacancies that are actually filled up may be less than the notified number of seats if sufficient suitable candidates are not found.
General Terms & Conditions
- Candidates appearing in the final examination of their Master’s degree may also apply. However, the result must be declared and the final mark sheet must be produced at the time of the Ph.D. interview.
- Reservation policy will be followed as per Government of India norms. SC/ST/OBC candidates are required to submit the certificates in respect of their claims from the authorized officers as notified by the Government of India for the purpose from time to time.

- Admission fees, annual fees, registration fees, or any other fees levied by RCB shall be payable by the student.
- Fee concessions will be provided to SC/ST candidates.
- Selected students will have the option of shared hostel accommodation in lieu of their HRA.
