Qualifications & Experience:
Several years of experience in a hospital CSSD / sterilisation environment is commonly required — for example, 1-2 years of experience.
For a “Sterilisation In-Charge” role, you’d ideally hold a qualification in one of the following fields (or a combination):
• Microbiology / Applied Microbiology
• Biomedical Science / Life Sciences, BSc, MSc candidates can apply
• Medical Device Technology / Allied Health Technology
• Bio-manufacturing / Sterilisation Technology / Hospital Sterilisation (especially relevant in healthcare)
Make sure your training includes sterilisation-specific topics: autoclaving, ethylene oxide, radiation sterilisation, sterilisation validation, monitoring (biological indicators), etc.
Also, if the role is in a manufacturing context (like a medical-device company), engineering or process-validation knowledge is a plus.
