About Us:
Jaypee Institute of Information Technology (JIIT), Noida, setup in 2001, has evolved into a centre of excellence in the field of Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics & Communication, Biotechnology, Management and related emerging areas of education, training, and research. The Department of Biotechnology at JIIT, has state-of-the-art teaching and research labs. Sponsored research projects of ₹20 crore from premier government agencies, Bio-Incubator funded by BIRAC (₹ 6.5 crores), DST-FIST supported lab (₹66.00 lakhs), and JIIT’s Ramanujan Universe (High Performance Computing Facility) for bioinformatics-related work are the department’s highlights.
Direct Admission
- Students with CGPA 7.0 and above in undergraduate degree are eligible for direct admission

M.Tech Biotechnology Admissions Open 2025
Design your degree (for M.Tech)
- Exit after 1+ year with PG Diploma
- Provision to rejoin and complete M. Tech within 5 years
- Get M. Tech. degree on completion of 2 years
Eligibility: M. Tech. Biotechnology
B Tech in Biotechnology/B. Tech in Bioinformatics/ Masters in life sciences, 4 years Bachelors degree in Biotechnology/Life Sciences/ Agriculture, MBBS, B. VSc. and B. Pharma with atleast 60% marks (55% for SC/ST) or equivalent grade point on a 10 point scale in the aggregate.; 10 seats under DBT support with stipend through GAT-B
Selection based on CUET/GATE/any corresponding national level exam/JIIT entrance test (PGET)/GAT-B

M.Sc. Microbiology Admissions Open 2025
Eligibility: M.Sc. Microbiology
Course/equivalent undergraduate degree; B.Sc. (General)/B.Sc. (Hons)/equivalent Undergraduate Degree in any branch of Life Sciences/Medical Sciences/any branch of Biology under 10+2+3 pattern securing minimum 55% marks (50% for SC/ST) or equivalent grade point on a 10-point scale in the aggregate in Science subjects (considering all the three years of B.Sc. course)
