Job Title: Bioinformatics Analyst

Position Summary:
Episteme Genomics is hiring a Bioinformatics Analyst with experience in Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) data analysis. Strong hands-on experience with Oxford Nanopore data is highly desirable and will be prioritized.
The role involves working closely with genomics researchers and bioinformatics scientists to support cutting-edge genomics projects with clinical and research relevance.
Key Responsibilities:
• Analyze, interpret, and manage large-scale NGS datasets, especially from Oxford Nanopore
• Build, test, and maintain bioinformatics pipelines
• Perform QC, read alignment, variant calling, annotation, and report generation
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support project goals
• Maintain proper documentation and contribute to scientific publications or presentations
Required Experience:
• 1 to 3 years of experience in bioinformatics with a strong focus on NGS data
• Hands-on experience with Oxford Nanopore data analysis is a must-have
• Familiarity with high-throughput sequencing workflows and standard file formats (FASTQ, BAM, VCF, etc.)
Qualifications:
• Master’s/Bachelor’s degree in Bioinformatics, Genomics, Computational Biology, or a related discipline
• Solid understanding of NGS technologies and bioinformatics workflows
Bioinformatics Tools & Skills:
• Core Tools: Minimap2, Samtools, bcftools, FastQC/NanoPlot
• Scripting: Python, Bash
• Data formats: FASTQ, BAM, VCF
• Operating System: Linux/Unix environment familiarity
