Job Purpose:
To be a part of the Assay Biology group and support various assay-related activities involving protein biochemistry and cell biology techniques to evaluate or develop methods for screening assays and delineation of the mechanism of action by biochemical and enzyme assays using different assay technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assay development and validation for regular screening of molecules in different assay formats such as luminescence, fluorescence, FRET, radio assays, etc.
- Provide assistance to team leads in planning and executing biochemical and/or cellular laboratory experiments and interpreting results.
- Perform regular cell culture activities like propagation and maintenance of cell lines and other operational activities in the labs.
- Write laboratory notebooks following ALCOA++ data integrity principles.
- Ensure completion of the work as per the project timelines.
- Update the reporting manager periodically and escalate major shortfalls with respect to resources and timelines.
- Train junior team members to execute screening activities with established SOPs.
- Follow environment, health, and safety (EHS) requirements to ensure individual and lab/plant safety and attend relevant training provided by the company.
Educational Qualification: M.Sc/M.Tech in Biological Sciences
Technical/Functional Skills:
- Expertise and in-depth knowledge of cell-based and biochemical assays (e.g., TR-FRET, HTRF, Fluorescence Intensity, Alpha screen, Radioactive assays, and Luminescence-based assays).
- Experience and good knowledge of assay QC parameters.
- Experience in biophysical assays is a plus.
- Familiarity with automated liquid handling systems.
- Experience in ELISA and Luminex-based assays for cytokine estimations is an advantage.
- Experience with human primary cells and tissue samples.
- Proficiency in RT-PCR and Western blots; knowledge of WES and JESS systems is a plus.
- Ability to analyze and present data using Excel, PowerPoint, and statistical tools (GraphPad Prism, Excel-fit).
- Ability to plan and execute work and perform multiple activities in parallel.
Experience: M.Sc/M.Tech with 3 to 8 years of experience
