Core Purpose of the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Molecular biology scientist at Senior Research Associate level to join the Molecular biology group in the Protein tech team of SARC Biology, a multidisciplinary team with capabilities in molecular cloning, expression, and purification of proteins, including antibodies, bispecifics and microbially expressed proteins. The ideal candidate will have broad laboratory training, deep scientific curiosity, and a positive approach to working in a team-based research environment along with a track record of creative problem-solving and enthusiasm for taking on difficult research challenges.

Role Accountabilities

1. Well versed in molecular biology techniques such as recombinant cloning (gateway cloning/ In-Fusion Coning/ Golden gate cloning/Gibson Assembly/TA cloning/ TOPO cloning), DNA and RNA isolation, PCR, cDNA synthesis, gene synthesis, site-directed mutagenesis, qPCR.
2. The candidate must have experience in various DNA scale up techniques such as Mini prep, Maxi prep, Mega prep, and Giga prep.
3. The candidate should have worked with various DNA sequences analysis software such as vector NTI, SEQ builder, and Geneious.
4. Understanding of Sanger sequencing data is desirable for analysis of DNA sequencing results.
5. Knowledge in solving V-gene analysis for antibody is an added advantage. Should be familiar with antibody discovery process.
6. Also desirable is the knowledge of construction of expression vectors for enhanced protein production in mammalian and bacterial systems. Another added advantage is recombinant protein expression in transient and stable mammalian hosts such as HEK293 and CHO.
7. Thinks in regard to options when identifying solutions, develops new approaches to improve or replace existing procedures or systems, generates alternatives prior to settling on a solution.
8. Quickly understands what brand-new tasks/jobs require, quickly understands, and utilizes procedures, technologies and ideas that are constantly being upgraded.
9. Strong oral and written communication skills.

Educational Qualification:  M.Sc/M.tech in Molecular Biology, life sciences or similar scientific fields.

Experience:  3-6 years of experience post qualification.
