Your Role:
We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled individual to join our team as a Junior Bioinformatician. As a Bioinformatician, you will actively support our ongoing projects that include development, validation, and implementation of data analytics, development of tools, databases, and research publications.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the analysis of NGS data, including DNA-seq, RNA-seq, and targeted sequencing.
- Support the development and implementation of bioinformatics pipelines for variant calling, expression analysis, and data visualizations.
- Collaborate with scientists to interpret genomic data, providing insights relevant to clinical applications and research studies.
- Maintain and troubleshoot Linux-based systems and bioinformatics applications.
- Engage in problem-solving tasks, such as optimizing data processing workflows and addressing analytical challenges.
Requirements:
- Master’s in bioinformatics.
- Strong command of English, both written and verbal.
- Proficient in Linux and familiar with NGS techniques and terminology, such as sequencing platforms (Illumina, PacBio), alignment tools (BWA, Bowtie), and variant analysis (GATK, ANNOVAR).
- Comfortable with Python or at least willing to learn; experience with bioinformatics libraries (e.g., Biopython) is a plus.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with AWS, HPC, and container systems (e.g., Docker) is a plus, but not required.
- Exposure to human clinical NGS data, such as whole-exome sequencing (WES) or whole-genome sequencing (WGS), will be prioritized.
