DBT BioCARe Programme For Women Researchers 2024-25 – Call For Applications Open!

ANNOUNCES THE CALL FOR APPLICATIONS UNDER “BIOTECHNOLOGY CAREER ADVANCEMENT AND RE-ORIENTATION (BioCARe) PROGRAMME FOR WOMEN RESEARCHERS” FOR 2024-25

The Department of Biotechnology invites applications under the BioCARe Programme for women researchers. The programme is targeted to enhance the participation of women researchers for their career development in the area of Biotechnology.

Eligibility:

  • The fellowship is open to Indian Women Nationals residing in India who are up to the age of 55 years and unemployed as on the closing date of the application. The fellowship is co-terminus with the duration of the project.
  • The duration of the project will be a maximum of 3 years.
  • The application can be submitted under:
    • Category-I: Women researchers who have completed Ph.D. in any discipline of Biotechnology/Life Sciences or allied areas/interdisciplinary sciences/MD/MDS/M.V.Sc.
    • Category-II: Women researchers who have completed M.Tech. in Biotechnology or in allied areas/M.Pharma/equivalent Degree holders.
    • Note: Candidates who are registered or enrolled in higher studies/Ph.D. and/or receiving any fellowships are not eligible to apply.
  • Research support will be provided only to women researchers (unemployed/not in a regular position) for whom this is the first extramural research grant. Women researchers who have received any earlier grant from any Government Funding Agency as Principal Investigator are not eligible.

Nature of Support:

  • The fellows will receive a consolidated grant which will include non-recurring and recurring expenses required for conducting the proposed research project along with a fellowship.

Interested candidates may submit the online application through the Common Fellowship Portal of the Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India (https://fellowships.gov.in). The last date for submission of the application will be sixty (60) days from the date of advertisement of the call for applications i.e. 1st December, 2024.

Last date for DBT BioCARe Fellowship 2024-25 has been extended till 31st December, 2024.
