About ITC’s Foods Division

ITC’s Foods Division is spearheading ITC’s diversification into the foods business and is perhaps the fastest growing FMCG business in the country. In a short span, the division has witnessed an average annual growth of over 50%, captured sizeable market share and consumer preference in all its operating segments and has set the benchmark on product quality. The division has drawn up ambitious growth plans and is well positioned to become the largest branded, packaged food business in the country in the next five years.

Position: Assistant Manager/Executive – Product Development

Reports To: General Manager – Product Development

Location: ITC, Food Technology Center (FTC), Peenya, Bangalore

Role: New product and process development, quality improvement and upgradation, develop and update quality control procedures for the manufacture of products in plants, sensory profiling of products, flavour profiling and product compatibility studies, shelf life evaluation, consumer research activities, supplier development, plant layout and scale up.


  • For Executive: 2+ years in Spices/Seasoning
  • For Assistant Manager: 5+ years in R&D/QA position at policy-making level in a food-related business.

Job-related Skills

  1. Should have excellent knowledge of different unit operations involved in food processing.
  2. Core knowledge and previously handled food development for Spices.
  3. Sound Analytical Chemistry knowledge and hands-on operating experience of a comprehensive Analytical System.
  4. Clear understanding of basic food ingredients and their functionalities.
  5. Thorough knowledge and understanding of the ‘Prevention of food adulteration rules/act (PFA), FSSA, BIS and Codex standards.
  6. Should have excellent Project Management and planning skills.
  7. Development and implementation of quality systems.
  8. Strong commercial acumen.

Educational Qualification: Masters Degree in Food Science/Food Processing/Food Engineering or related field required.
