Hey, if you are looking for some possible interview questions and the answers for the JRF and Project Assistant vacancies at Central Silk Board, then read below.

  1. What is your experience in ecological data collection? Answer: As mentioned in my CV, I have worked on a research project on biodiversity assessment in a protected area. I have hands-on experience in ecological data collection, including measuring vegetation cover, recording wildlife sightings, and conducting transect surveys.
  2. What is your understanding of remote sensing and GIS technology? Answer: I have a strong foundation in remote sensing and GIS technology through my coursework and research experience. I have also completed an online certification course in GIS software, where I learned to use ArcGIS and QGIS software for mapping and spatial analysis.
  3. What is your approach to handling field samples for insect identification? Answer: I follow standard protocols for handling field samples to avoid cross-contamination and ensure sample quality. I also use a dissecting microscope to identify and distinguish insect species based on morphological features.
  4. How would you go about documenting and validating Indigenous Technical Knowledge (ITKs) in the tropical Tasar Zone? Answer: To document and validate ITKs, I would conduct surveys and interviews with local communities to identify and document traditional practices and knowledge related to silkworm rearing, processing, and marketing. I would then cross-validate this information with scientific literature and experts in the field to ensure accuracy.
  5. Can you explain your experience in evaluating plant genotypes/varieties based on phenotypic and genotypic data? Answer: In my previous research project, I evaluated different maize varieties for drought tolerance using a combination of phenotypic and genotypic data. For phenotypic evaluation, I measured physiological and morphological traits, such as leaf area, stomatal conductance, and root architecture. For genotypic evaluation, I used molecular markers such as SSRs and SNPs to assess genetic diversity and identify desirable traits.
