Position: Junior Project Fellow

No. of Vacancy: 1

Project Title: Understanding the nest distribution, survival and conservation needs of Indian Skimmer and other riverine sandbar nesting birds.

Location-based: Cuttack District, Odisha

Age Limit: Below 28 years.

Duration: 06 months contract (subject to extension)

Job Description: The candidate is required to carry out regular field surveys along the River Mahanadi, Odisha. The data collection involves bird counts, marked bird monitoring, nest monitoring, and behavioural data collection of selected riverine bird species. Off-field work will include data entry, compilation, and report writing with basic analysis. Should be willing to work with the locals and forest department throughout the fieldwork. Basic accommodation will be provided at the base camp and additionally may have to stay in remote locations during the surveys. Willingness to work with limited resources available on the field.

Educational Qualifications: B.Sc /M.Sc. in Life Sciences / Zoology / Environmental Science/ Wildlife Sciences

Preferable Qualifications: Knowledge of Oriya (speaking/writing), Swimming, prior work
experience 06 months to 1 Year, basics of bird identification, valid two-wheeler license.

Salary: Rs. 18,000/- to Rs. 22,000/- per month CTS
